CL-S vs. a camaro auto (?) V6 (?)

So I was getting on the highway after work tonight, it was two lanes that eventually split... went either north or south on rt1 (Leveritt Circle if there are any Boston drivers). There was a Camaro zipping in and out of traffic on the ramp until he realized that he needed to get over and go north, the lane I was in, so he cuts me off to the point where I need to hit the brakes hard. There was maybe 2 car lengths between me and the car ahead of me but he moves in without a blinker. He has a big Chevy bow-tie sticker that takes up most of the back window and a big (16 inch?) subwoofer on the back deck pointed up at the glass. I look and I can't see any tail pipes so I don't worry too much about racing him. I tailgate him a bit since he cut me off (he was an @ss first! ). Traffic was okay and when we hit the highway I pull next to him. He flips me off and steps on it. Let me tell you, I have never seen a funnier thing. He starts to go, and I downshift (SS), zoom past in almost no time and switch into his lane. It isn't even 15 seconds before he is just a memory in my rear view. The kid was probably only 18 but he though he was fast since he had a really big Chevy sticker. Nothing to brag about but I figured I'd share...it is twerps like that that give real Camaros a bad name.

Sad thing is, he won't learn...

I was pretty sure that this camaro wasn't a V8. You can usually tell just be the sound of the engine. At some point that kid will realize that the back bumper saying "camaro" and the big Chevy sticker in the window doesn't equal being fast.

thats how I know its not a V8.

That or the fact an LS1 (V8) Camaro would wipe the floor with you.

Read the above posts...both Xenon7 and IamRobG and myself) expressed NO interest in having our @sses handed to us by a monster V8.

What is the best 1/4 mile for an NA CL so far? I haven't seen a lot of new times recently.

I HIGHLY doubt that. I think the best NA CL w/o spray is Allmotor with his 13.9, which is still far from what a LS1 can do

LOL, even a totally botched launch and a missed shift will yeild a 13.9 in an LS1. Must have something to do with 300+ rwhp bone stock.

Pull-T, do you have that Camaro V6 motor somewhere you not telling us about?

Yeah I have no intrest in wasting valuable 94 octane gasoline on either the V6/ or V8 Camaro. I do know the 2000 Camaro SS (with SLP package) & 6sp is pretty damn quick. Couple of the guys here on the board got a chance to see my buddies run at English Town.

It was an older model Camaro too...early 90s? It was inexperience on his part that he tried to race a CL-S. It isn't a car that gets talked about as being a force in the general public....but that subject has been discussed around the forum already.
