CL-S vs. BMW 5 Series

So I'm headed home from the gym about 45 minutes ago. I get off of the Loop 101 and wait at the light at the bottom of the exit ramp to take a left onto 8th street. I see a silver late 90's to early 00's 5 Series Beamer pull up behind me. I look at the dude in my rearview because he's all gansta leaned back in his seat, stereo pumping. The light turns green and I take my left onto 8th and proceed to the next light under the highway. I'm keeping my eye on the Beamer and in the back of my head hope he merges over to the right lane so we can line up at the light. He does! I couldn't tell if it was a 528 or a 540 at this point, but I did notice he had the 540 deep dish wheels on it so I'm expecting this Beamer to pull hard on me. I put it in D1 for my first attempt at this gate shifting deal that I've read is the best way to shift my autotragic. The light turns green. I don't nail it right away because I honestly wasn't sure yet if he was going to race me or not. After a split second I hear him nail it so I do as well... VTEC kicks in... I shift into D2 at 7,000 RPM... I look over and see his bumper slowly disappearing behind me. Hell yeah! By the time I was at the top of 2nd and throwing it into D3 I already had a car and a half on him. I was really surprised to have pulled by him like that, so after thinking in my head how the 540's are such sleepers, I determined it must have been a 528 and not a 540. I never got behind him to see the badging because after we both backed off he ended up staying a few car lengths behind me and never let us get even. He turned onto a side street and I continued on to my place and to the computer to report on my encounter. I wonder if he's trying to figure out what kind of Acura that was that just walked all over him?

540 runs 14 flat all day long, so most of us won't catch one, but nice kill on the 528
