You should beat the type r easily. More horsepower, more torque, and better looks . The type R is quick for it's class, but don't think it can run with a type S six speed. Now a modded type R is a different story.

It might be close, I'm gonna say that you should win, but it may depend on the driver. GoodLuck

statistically the rsx-s is supossed to be faster than the typr-r.
But I don't know how because the type-r is way lighter with same hp. Personally I'm not too impressed with the rsx-s but type-r's are pretty quick. He might get you from 0-60 but after that you'll stomp him!

don't worry you'll beat him..I raced with my friends yellow Type R and I won over a car length...we changed drivers and still got the same results he had spoon headers, exhaust, and intake...just don't miss-shift or you'll lose.....by means....we were beating with intensity when we raced

CL-S 1/4 mile=14.6

type r's are about equal to an auto CL-S. they run anywhere between 14.5-8 with a good driver to low/mid 15's with an avg. driver.

Those times were straight from professional driver's. (car & driver mag.) I'm sure there might be a faster type-r out there but I don't think he was "granny shifting"

Like most cars, if he can drive, you never know. I've seen them mid-14s and I've seen them mid-15s. I think its an awesome car that is abused by too many younger people. For a 4-banger, they're not bad.

If I was you I'd run at least a 1/4 mile cause above about 70-80 the CL-S will start pulling on the Type R. but out of the hole you guys will be even. so don't do a short stoplight run.

Darinb,
I had one of my best races ever against a modded ITR. We went from a stop twice, the first race I won by 1/2 a car to 70 the 2nd race he won by 1/2 a car to 70. It will be a close race if he knows how to drive. The ITR you are racing has I/H/E and shouldn't be taken lightly or will be seeing his tailights.

"double clutching"?

what's double clutching? isn't that for synchronizing the gears? with built in synchros why do you need to double clutch? what's the advantage to double clutching?

CL Type "S" 1,

I don't know if you are trying to be funny, but VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is a feature of the high end Honda engines, our cars have VTEC also. "All engine" or "All motor" means the car is not running on any kind of forced induction (ie: Turbo, S/C or NOS)

Hondan53, sounds like you got yourselfs a very fun track car there.. I've always wondered about the JUN cams.. do you have both Intake and Exhaust? I had JUN cams for my Integ, but it was only Intake, it was much bigger than the old CTR one I had.

Damn.. I miss my car.. I should have never sold it.. :'(

Time to get my ass in gear and get back into it..

Thanks. The car is fun to drive, but it is not fun when I get pulled over by the cops every where I go, that is why I bought the CL-S to drive around in.

Yeah I do have both the intake and the exaust cams. They are huge compared to the stock cams. The car really pulls with those cams. (Except it idles funny, cammin' I guess)

Definately get back into it if you can, I think it is a good hobby for any guy out there. PM me if you want to chat about cars.
