wow some of you guys are getting amazing #'s.
my auto 03 cls has been getting roughly 180 miles from fill up to the light coming on. i recently replaced air filter, changed oil & filter, changed spark plugs, seafomed and still getting crappy results.
any suggestions or maintenance you guys can recommend to getting better mileage. any suggestions would definitely be appreciated.

I just came back from a road trip to Universal this weekend. Got 26.4 doing 80-90 with the AC & cruise on, & with 3 people in the car. That's with a few 100mph runs to pass people.
Straight HW driving is great in my car. Regular driving though sucks up gas in my car. I think all the mods I have makes the difference in HW mileage.

I've been driving without AC on all the time this week to see if my mileage goes up significantly...
I don't know how some people with stock cars can get the mileage they claim to get when I'm struggling to get 26-27 stock (w/ a K&N).

I just made a trip over the holidays to San Fran and back on one tank. My mom taugh me a LONG time ago to divide how many miles you drove by the amount of gallons you put in. Obviously that only works full tank to full tank though. When I calculated it it came out to 29.11mpg HWY

ps--just put on some 20" ronjons, springs and mufflers are going on next week along with painted calipers..so watch out for some hot new pics soon guysss..

Gudd,
You should definately change that filter! 50K is a little old....I shouldn't think your O2 sensor should have to be changed if the car is not running badly, but all that gunk in the filter is gonna make is hard for the motor to breath.
Oh, and the 20's are gonna kill your MPG, too.
Been looking around at maybe getting a CAI for mine......I DO NOT want my car much louder at all, just thought I'd get some more milage out of it.
As far as A/C, I crank mine EVERY day, can't go without it......

Last time I checked I was getting 27MPG with 80%highway and 20% city. I drive 100 miles a day to work and back home. So 50 miles each way. That was on the shitty winter fuel here in Colorado were premium is only 91 oct. And I have a heavy foot.

Just got 30.34 mpg on the last tank full... but the numbers are skewed a bit since I didn't use AC all week, and I had a trip to my mom's on july 4th weekend...
This week, windows back up. AC on... cruise at 60mph, and more coasting and shifting at 2k-2.5K...

In a couple weeks I am making a road trip. Will be leaving Michigan and hitting up Washington DC and Virginia Beach. I will let you guys know what the mileage works out for that. I imagine the Washington traffic will kill it when I am around that area.

You going to DC, or the surrounding area? If so, where abouts?
I am being careful with the tank I have in now, and am at about 212 miles at a half tank so far..........

My friend I am going on this road trip on has a buddy that lives in the surrounding area. Where that is I have not found out yet. Hopefully I can just park my car wherever he lives and have him drives us around. lol. Other than that I will be in DC doing the tourist thing and catching a nationals baseball game.

This my sound impossible or outrageous but I got 33.9 MPG on an all highway trip to Ohio over the July 4th holiday! I was SHOCKED to say the least! But the car ran the same speed (more or less) for 3+ solid hours...

In the city I got 328 miles on a full tank and another time I got 499 hwy miles on a full tank of gas. People please use 93 octane and take care of your car.

Well couple days ago I made the drive from Michigan to Maryland and got 32.XX mpg on my 03 cls auto with 66k on it.
-That was on 89 octane (buddy went with me was complaining about getting even mid grade).
-I was also driving varied speed anywhere from 70 to 85 (even at 85 I was still getting passed by a ton ppl)
-Driving in the hilly mountain conditions in Pennsylvania.
- A/C on

this week i made sure i religously shifted gears by 3k rpms at the most..of course there were times where i forgot and i went WOT at least 2 or 3 times.. right now im at 230 miles on the tank and the light will probably be going on within the next 10-20 miles..so im figuring about 280 miles on the tank (pure city driving)..
now this is all with my comptech foam filter with AT LEAST 50-60k miles on it..who knows how long it was on before i bought the car... just today i finally used a dremel to cut off the heads of the stripped bolts on the icebox cover and put in a brand new K&N filter..so ill be reporting back after i fill up and use the next tank to see how big a difference it makes..im hoping at least 50 more miles a tank, hopefully more.

I have a CL-S 6spd and I'm 100% city driving and get in the 19.7mpg area. I decided to run an experment after my last fillup and see what I could get by using some hypermiling techniques:
- Turning the car off at red lights(only once I'm completely stopped)
- Accelerating like an old lady
- Leaving room in front to slow with out braking
- Foot off the gas as soon as traffic ahead is braking
So this fillup I had 27.2 mpg, same 100% city driving. I was truly amazed and wasn't expecting this kind of increase(I was hoping it didn't make this kind of difference so I could say driving like an old lady wasn't worth a 2 or 3 mpg increase).
Oh well, I guess the $500 dollars a year I will save is worth it.

So have any other CL or CL-S owners gone over 500 miles on a tank or am I all alone at that mark?
I made a trip to upstate NY 2 weeks ago and pulled off about 520 but didn't bother to take pics (so 510.1 is my still my documented high mile mark). There were a few spots going through the Berkshires were I pulled off 2+ mile neutral coasts and one nice steep hill where I went about a 1.5 miles in gear on a DFCO coast in 6th at about 70mph.

I do about 20% city and 80 hwy. I got 460 and filled up 15 gallons so about 31 mpg (avg 70-75 mph). This week I've been driving 65-70 mph and driving like grandma. I'll see if that improves it much.

update: well i changed my nasty old filter (it was a comptech foam which was now black instead of green) out for a new K&N filter.. i ran a full tank of gas down to the lowest i felt comfortable going without filling up.. i got 275 miles on the tank almost 100% city, that comes out to like 16-17mpg or so..not good at all..
as ive said before i ran codes and nothing came up..engine runs great, i do all the maintenance and change oil regularly, also use 93 octane everytime i pump gas..what could be causing my poor gas mileage?? i went to the acura dealership and got some of that lucas fuel injector/engine cleaner that u run through the gas..they suggested that as a way to try n get some more mileage out of the cl-s, i put that in at half a tank today and filled all the way to the top right after so it would all mix in..they said it wouldnt start making a difference till at least half a tank was used so we'll see how this tank does for mpg

I just went through my first tank after installing headers. They make a 2-3 mpg difference city driving so far.
I drive 75% cityt driving and 25% highway. I used to get 19mpg getting to vtec maybe once per tank. Now since I got the headers and removed the intake resonator I got 22mpg with A LOT OF VTEC.

just got 519 miles on a tank. 33mpg averaging about 65mph 75% highway. drove 70 miles after the light turned on. With about 40 miles after the light turned on I just thought to myself, "You're an idiot if you run out of gas."

Whats up with RDX owners?

Just after getting it I drove from Jersey to VA and around town here, got 386miles when the light came on. 27.6mpg at 65-80mph with horrible traffic in DC and some "fun" with other cars on 95 in VA. 6 speed of course. Im going to do some maintenance and see if I can hit 30mpg.

Just got another 31mpg tank on a trip to Madison, WI with a good amount of city driving once I was there. Average highway speed was 75mph-85mph.
