CL-S 6sp vs G6

Just pulled my 03 CL-S 6speed out of its winter hibernation and was putting some fresh gas at the gas station when a silver Pontiac G6 pulls up with 3 high school kids in it. I was asked by the driver of the G6 if my car was a 6speed I confirmed and I challenged him to a race, he seemed to know a good spot. The 2 girls took forever getting back into his car, but I didn't mind as one of them was f-n hot and had painted on jeans that I swear were spotting a camels toe. That should be illegal, probally is I didn't get her name or age.

After 10 minute ride we came to straight stretch, lots of visability. I took the left side of the road. Racing from a stop is all about control as it's easy to miss a gear when your exited. I coaxed the driver into letting the girls out, less weight ect and just wanted anouther peak of course(yes I'm a sick, sick man). With my engine reved to about 1200 rpm he says GO. He was right beside me untill I hit 3 gear and letting my v-tech max out I hit 4 th and was about a 1/2 car length ahead of him when he caught up, I was then doing 140km and approaching a hill in the wrong lane. I slowed down he passed. I know I won but he figures he took me in the end. It was fun and took me back to the careless days of my early 20's
Now I really can't wait to hit the track and see some ET times

I thought you would've been able to beat him by more, the 3.5 in the G6 only puts out 200hp and I think 220 ft/lbs of torque Good kill though

You maxed your V-TECH phone?

VTEC

Nice race. The G6 isn't a big competitor to the CL-S6; it's more evenly match with a CL-P.

By the way, I see that you live in Toronto. Are you coming to the meet?

Good kill for your first day back out there. I also took mine out of winter hibernation today. We had over 2” of rain the past two days so the roads are nice and clean.

I bet your 6sp would have taken him more if you were more confident maxing out the shift points in 1, 2nd and 3rd. I’ve only driven mine 3 times in the last 3.5 months and today (first day out in the spring) I am a little shy on the throttle. Once I change the oil this weekend, redline, here I come.

I understand having your two camaros and possibly the truck in "hibernation" for the winter, but why a CLS??? What's the use of even having it........does it run 11's?

Nice kill though........but I'd think you would've won by more.

check your actuator, just a thought

here are stats that i found

0-60 8sec
1/4 mile 16.0@88

The CL-S was to really to keep the wife happy. I sold her car and had to buy her a
new one, so why not try an import?

1.2k launch is too low. You should launch IMO 2k-2.5k rpm.

let me start by saying

you are 31, and you challenged some high school kids in a G6 (slow car) to race... and then you were checkin out the little girls... AND you barely beat him... jeez what a puss you are...

step 1 (one) : learn how to drive your car
step 2 (two) : leave highschool kids alone
step 3 (three) : pick your races better a g6 is no challenge

You're not discriminating because of his age are you? I take offense to that......not to mention I love 18-25 year old chics.

Why not just embaress him and beat him by the 3-4 car lengths you should have? If I raced any NA OHV GM V6 I would kill myself if I couldnt walk them from any speed.

3rd here but wow...when I raced my friend in his newer G6 I beat him by about 1 car length. So there is no reason a CLS 6 speed shouldnt be in front by a few car lengths in no time...from a guy with those other fast cars, you drove a long way to puss out with the CLS when it came too it. IMO I would have smoked his ass if I went out of my way to race - but then I probably wouldnt have if I was 31...but who knows

"reved to about 1200 rpm " thats not much of a rev since cold idle is about that

There's no need to get nasty as I was just having some fun on my day off, and I was taking a few deserving shots, but callin me a puss was stupid considering you don't know me. I could of lied and said I beat him by 10 car lengths but that's not what went down . I'll forgive cosidering your from California home of some of the fatest ugliest bitches I ever seen, went there last year. You are the Silicone capital for good reason. I may like them 18 but fat and nasty won't do any age!
PS. I know how to drive, was trying not to wheel hop as it is a problem in our cars from factory. Also didn't want a head on with traffic the other way!
PS. Cut down on the dubes bro it's f-ckn up your head

I actually own 5 cars, 3 of which never will see winter. I won the f-n race that's all that matters to me. 1200 rpm launch saved me from wheel hop in second. Never at any time did he take me and when I slowed down for the blind hill he went on by. What seems to be the problem here? If he at any time was taking me sure I would of hammered it, wasn't necessary though, this patience comes with years of racing. I was racing dirt bikes when you were sucking on you mothers tit.

hahahaha after looking at your avatar I feel sorry for your mom's boobie...the whole point is you could have and should have smoked the guy within the first 10 seconds so you could have gotten in front of him so you didnt have to worry about the traffic and then you could have flashed the hazzards at the queer for even trying to race you.

Holy shit.. You guys are being overly sensitive..

He just brought the car out no need to beat on it right away.. And nothing wrong with checking out some chics..

I'm closing this before it gets any more out of control..
