CL-S 6 vs. 96 Z28 6 speed (VIDEO)
My friend and I decided to go for a few runs with his newly purchased Z28 Camaro 6 speed. This run was from a 50 m.p.h. roll to about 100 or a little more. He managed to pull on me but I think I did alright considering what I was racing.
He has more of an advantage from low speed rolls due to his torque but this was a pretty good run. We will try to hit the track soon to see what it will do.![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

reduce your weight lighter forged wheels pullys flywheel and a good tune on a dyno. All of this should make a big difference.
Currently your giving away too much weight to win.

stock LTs barely get into the 13's...285 i think if i remember correctly is the crank number for the Z but as mentioned much more torque 300+ i generally go by LT s up top the way he went by our guy...also i thin the cl had a passenger and not so sure if he held 3rd all the way (only guessing) put the passenger in the Z28 and make sure you hold 3rd till just before fuel cut and ill bet you can hold him off

the lt1s aren't slouches. I posted elsewhere me and my brothers personal experiences. manual or auto with cold air and cat back all cars run very consistent 13.7-13.9s at 101-103 mph. essentially stock cars, and all just a bit quicker than the 6 spd, even with some mods, but right on for mph (can't launch that fwd to 2.0-2.2 60s regularly). However, the difference is not like that with the ls1. the lt1 really is a drivers race, but good driver in each, the LT1 is probably the victor coming off the line but a real toss up from a roll...but a little bit of a miss shift, or catching an auto in the wrong gear from a roll will get you out nicely.
the one thing i can't stand about my auto cls is that it's really only strong through 3rd gear. 110, the GTs and LT1s i've toyed around with never have that lull that our cars have and at that point, if I haven't won i'm going to pulled pretty hard, say taking it to 120, at least you don't have to deal with that.

Red Rider - what's your car run with the blower and all?
there's a part of me that says keep the cls forever and buy the blower. not sure though. is drivability down much or at all?
the 269 is with blower, before the B right?

It may just be in the little things to get it just right.

I'm enjoying having a "sleeper" car and one that everyone doesn't own. I'm gonna keep it for awhile, i hope to upgrade the ECU, larger boost pulley and possibly IC. If necessary i can always upgrade the tranny to handle the extra power, so far so good with the 5AT.

IMO, 290 - 300 WHP with the blower on the 5AT is possible now. For me to have hit 323 WHP in my 6-Speed without anything significantly different should warrant within 90% for the 5AT.
It may just be in the little things to get it just right.
