YES! Stoopid is actually who built that hatched, that beat the viper. If you remember they also had a girl friend name Shami who owned a red hatch turbo. It was featured on Sport Compact Car too....

Cool car, viper would SPANK IT off the line. From a roll it didn't really beat it by much. 1/2 car maybe? if even...

I think everyone forgets most of drag racing is in the 1st 300ft.

And I give the civic two seasons before he needs a rebuild vs. the viper who will run that time all day long.

Props to the civic, but if its only from a roll whats the point? The top speed on those trannys isn't much. Another reason why not to build a civic drag car.

I bet that civic will run a 12.xx. Seems to be a brick wall for those things. Unless he drives around the streets with slicks on

EDIT:

now that I watch it again... when was the civic really ahead!? a nose length maybe.

Actually we rebuild the viper after every second trip to the track. The civic is a daily driver. it makes about 440whp without nitrous. it should run a mid 10 this weekend. we are trying to get some weight out of it right now.. it weighs in at 2700lbs with driver. top speed with the transmission in the civic is a theoretical 240mph.. on that run we were going about 145-150 which is where both cars top out 4th gear.

Nice cars!! That's a hell of a daily driver. I can only imagine how many people you must humiliate with that car. Why do you have to rebuild the Viper so often? Compression loss? What exactly do you replace? I guess I didn't realize track runs were so damaging to the engine..

well the viper makes about 1000 on nitrous and the bearings get smashed. so we put new bearings in it after every other trip to the track.

Every second trip to the track?!?

That civic still wont last forever with 440whp. As I was saying 2 seasons, if that. Depending on how they beat on it.

That viper should be faster than 11.xx with 1000hp. (or was is a 10.xx the viper ran?)

1000hp 3200 -3400 lb car would be in the high 9's. For sure 10s.

The stryker TWIN TURBO viper which puts 900hp+ to the wheels doesn't need to be rebuilt all the time... (1,100 B.H.P.... 1,300 ft. lbs of Torque)

Wheres the BS flag when you need it.

nice rides, but the #'s don't jive.

What transmission and gearing do you have in the civic? (differential)

440whp and 2700lbs you should be in the 10's, if you can hookup.

Now imagine he swapped in a B18C rather than a B18B. Mad props to that Civic!!!

Anyway, the Viper is a mad fast car stock and even moreso when modded. But nothing a modded R34 or Supra couldnt handle (a la www.exvitermini.com).

There is a guy here in Cincy with pretty stock lookin Civic hatchback that ran high 11's low 12s all the time, he runs a local performance shop...last summer at one of the local cruise in's he raced a 99 Diablo VT roadster 3 times in a row and won everytime..i would have never believed it, but Pat the owner of the Diablo admited it...it was all over the Cincy street racing and cincy street scene forums.

yes, every second trip to the track.. its preventative maintenance, Vipers have a problem with oiling on the number 3 rod bearing.

It wont last forever.. nothing does, but it will last more than 2 seasons. My girlfriends car is making just under 400 on a stock LS engine and its on its 3rd season with perfect compression and leakdown numbers.

how about a 9.63 @ 150?

The Stryker TT has only made top speed runs and if you talk to them when the car is not at an event, its down for "maintenance".

I hope that answers some of your questions and thoughts.

ya that takes care of all of them

10.7 seemed a bit slow (so to speak) for 1000hp

There's a few people whom own the Stryker TT systems. None of them rebuild like that. Guess you guys are just fanatics.

Most of the turbo'd civics I have seen (6-8 or so) all run real fast. But they grenade at some point. And none of them hookup for shit. But they do pull once they get going.

Does you GF drive like a boy (no offense intended... does she beat on it) ? And is the boost up all the time?

b.t.w. Stryker also has another vehicle that has 1500+hp. I have never seen it myself though.

Nope Vette's have their traction issue as well. Any car after a certain point just needs dragger slicks.

uhhh isn't that top fuel territory?? How is 6.6 even possible with a street car on pump gas? Lou seriously, do you have any more details on his setup?

Sounds too good to be true well about a year ago there was a post about this car in this forum and I couldn't believe it. Well it is true because it was an actual thread in the Supra forum and they hated him because he humilated a 9 sec supra. This guy let the Supra take off before he did and blew by him like he was standing still. All I can say it was a old muscle car and he had some work done from a military friend that worked on truck engines. VOODDOO CHILD sayed after a race he would be trembling for an hour not from fear but from the extreme adrenaline rush. He said he loved it when he was going that speed do you know what 200=MPH in a 1/4 mile.WTF yea it is sad but true that car can humilate just about any car out there except maybe funny cars. Too bad the search isn't working or I would of redirected you.

I heard no street tire can harness the power of the Viper...its slicks or no traction. Probably the same with the civic...but a lot of ppl have been running alright with street slicks on fwds....since its a turbo..you just have to feather it a little...get rolling and then slam on the gas...

Well it is not running on pump gas guaranteed. It must be running some sort of forced induction.....unless the motor is huge...it is not exactly streetable if you have to use slicks...and have a full rollcage. Need I go on...
I'm sure he drove it there....on his trailer....
Even if he could drive it....it wouldnt be fun driving it on the street.

True enough. My RT can spin both rear 345/30-19 Pilot Sports... in 4th gear... at 120 mph. Even with slicks, there are still severe traction limits on the launch.

I remember the Voodoo Child post too. He said he runs it on the street and he drives it around town (not a trailer car).

It was a Dodge Hemi something from what I remember
