Cherish what you got...

Hey all. Just kinda needed to vent a little bit. I know this isnt the best place, nor is this really about cars, but in the end you will see. I knows its a lot to read, but please do!!

Monday morning (2 am) I got a phone call from my best friend. In the background I hear his wife scream bloody murder. He said there was trouble and to call all of our friends.

A little history first. Bob (26) and Krisi (23) just got married 2 months ago.

Well he called an ambulance because she was going into siesures. She was taken to Pocono Medical Center. Did an MRI and founf out that she has a Brain Aneurysm. They could do nothing for her. They didnt have the staff nor equipment. They called 5 Hospitals befor they found on who would take her.

University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philly ended taking her ONLY becuase she was 23 and there might be hope for saving her. She has been in ICU ever since.

To make the long story short. She is in a coma. Her pupils blew out and she will most likely be blind IF she ever eakes up. 1/2 of her body is twisted from having siesures. No one knows when and IF she will ever make it out of the hospital and if she does, how much of her normal functions she will have.

Its been hard on all of the our friends let alone Bob. There was no signs of this ever befor. Just one the unlucky ones. It had made everyone who knows her stop and really take a look at just how amazing our lives really are and how many day to day things we take advantage.

You NEVER know what tomorrow will hold. So hold on to today. I am not very religouse at all. But if you are, say a little something for Krisi would ya. Thanks

Thanks guys. As of now Dr.s' still say only about a 50/50 chance of making it. And now they fear there is an infection in the brain where they had opened her up to frain the blood. I'll keep you all posted if you want.

I've heard several stories about young people with aneurysms. it's such an unlikely situation and circumstance for a healthy 23 year old to get one. the worst part is there's no way to prevent these nor are there any symptoms generally. clot just catches and the vessel just goes. there really isn't anything they can do for her but attempt to treat the side affects after the fact.

my uncle is a very well known neurologist out in SoCal. Hopefully she'll come out of that coma in the near future. If they need any help or advice just look him up. His expertise is on Parkinson's and Movement Disorders but I'm sure he can tell you who to talk to locally about your friend's condition.

http://www.pmdi.org/

That's his website for research and links to his patient care information. My prayers and wishes are with them.

That is terrible....just terrible - Similiar thing happened to my brother when he was 23....just came out of the blue - Turned out that brain cancer was the culprit

I like your advice - Cherish what you got...Stuff like this makes you really take a look at life....

Your friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to her about it. This truly is a bolt from the blue. My friend's mother had the same thing happen to her. She was so healthy and full of life but one day she suddenly collapsed and passed away 3 days later.

My prayers are with your friends.

my prayers for both of your friends. same thing happened to my gf's brother. he's only 19, never a health problem. it's been almost a year and he is very slowly getting better. he is still in a hospital. one should always appreciate what they have. i hope both of them will recover someday...

Damn man, that's awful. I truly hope everything turns out ok.

I know what it's like to lose a loved one out of the blue - it's quite possibly the worst thing you can go through. Give your friend as much support as you can, he'll need people around him for a long time.
