Checking the tranny fluid
First off, thank you Honda for putting yet another thing in such a awkward place. You have to reach down by the battery, between some hoses just to grab it.
Okay, being paranoid of these tranny horror stories I decided to check the fluid. I pulled the dipstick out and could tell there was fluid on it, but it looked clear. I wiped it off and it was the correct color on the towel. I put it back in and then checked it again, and you really have to look at it to see if it's on there. I guess it's because of the color of the dipstick it makes it hard to check. The fluid is at the right level but I will be having it changed at my next service (15K service) anyway.
P.S.-check your air filter. This was mine I changed today. Sucks, regular stores still don't carry the Type S filter yet.

Just make sure you check the oil at normal operating temperature, not cold, and with the car on level ground.
BTW - K&N makes a drop-in filter for the CL-S. It's much better than the factory one.

Also make certain the car is not running as this will give you a false reading.Jens

This is NOT correct!
Some manufacturers do require the engine to be running but Acura does not.
The first step in the owners manual for checking the tranny oil says:
"Park the car on level ground. Shut off the engine"
