check this out (warranty issue)

So this last weekend my clutch started slipping. Very similar to some of the symptoms i have read on this web site for the cls owners with 6spd. I knew right away what it was but my clutch never went out. Took it to the acura dealership in Huntsville, AL (Jerry Damson). I have just over 40 miles on my cls. The service mgr at the dealership went on a test drive with me. He said clutch was going after driving it 1 mile. we pulled back into dealership at which point he turned off the car and said that this wasn't covered under my warranty, and it clearly reads clutch is a wear and tear item, then he said, BUT....... i can get it covered under warranty since i can tell you have really taken care of this car, he said he would save me about $1000.00

The clutch came in today and will be installed by tomorrow. I thought it was funny that the first thing the service mgr did before driving it was to check my tire tread on my rear vs frt tires. Too bad he couldn't tell a difference since i just installed enkei wheels with falken tires.

FREE NEW CLUTCH!!!!

Well good for you I guess. Just depends on the dealer. I know none of the 4 dealers in my area would cover such a thing.
I'm convinced there's some defect on some 6mt's that creates early clutch wear. A clutch going out in under 50K miles is BS.

dealer says my flywheel had hot spots and stress cracks, had to replace it too. I have only had it for 6k miles out of the 40k. I don't think the way i drve it would have made the clutch go out. I think the owner before me did not know how to drive it or drove it hard 24/7, that's all i can think. Picking the car back up today, so we'll see if i have any more problems.

Just went and got mine looked at...I had no such luck. $1,900 to fix my goddamn tranny. 50,000 miles and i need a new clutch/flywheel...go figure. You guys with the automatics don't have it so bad...at least when your tranny shits the bed you get it fixed for free.

The tranny would be fixed for free if it was within the warranty timeframe. It's not a wear and tear item.

well its the clutch and flywheel. Which are wear and tear items...or at least what they say. plus, the drivetrain warranty is up to 100,000 so it is still under warranty.
