Check Engine Light Flashing... Car driving rough.. spuddering

Help, My 01 CL-S just started choking on the way back to work from lunch. Its driving rough and the Check Engine Light came on. MY CL-S has no upgrades. I am thinking that maybe there is some gunk in the fuel filter or fuel pump? Not sure... I filled up this morning, but used the usual Shell Premium. Any help will be great. I am going to check some of the other post on rough Idles......

Sorry to tell you this boss but sounds like the same thing that was happening to my 2001 CL-S last 2 times my tranny went.. Are any other lights like the VSA light or anything else light up? How many miles are on your car?
Is it the original tranny?

I have 211K on my car, my original tranny was replaced at 90K under the recall/warranty. The tranny didn't come to mind because its shifting fine. It feels like the car is having a hard time breathing if that makes any sense. No other lights are coming on.. the check engine light is just periodically flashing on and off. In park, i reved it some thinking it was something lodged in the fuel filter or something, if it was it didn't budge... This stinks because I was planning to drive it to New York and Canada for New Years.... unless i figure it out she will be sitting in the garage. Better yet I might put her ass outside in the cold for punishment tonight.....

Sounds like lack of spark. Get the code, and then we could give you an even more educated guess.

Ok.. well I took her took her to advanced auto last night for the codes... I received the cylinder misfire error for all of 6. So I figure i would go ahead and change all of the plugs ...... It took me about 35 min the one on the rear left is a beast.. anyway I am still getting the flashing check engine light. The vibrations are not as bad, worse in 1st and 2nd gear around 2500.... and then over sixty when I give it any gas to accelerate, when I left off the gas she is fine..... any thoughts?

Is there anything I can do to fix or repair the existing coils or do I just need to replace them?

1 or more bad coils I would say. They can only be replaced. Buy 1 new coil & swap each one at a time & test drive. See if you can identify the bad coils. Then you know for sure how many you need.
