changing a front wheel drive to a four wheel drive
Wellllll.................. yeah it could be done .Get an MDX gearbox and differential .We know the MDX gearbox will bolt to the CL engine .Ofcourse the subframe won't let it fit but with enough cutting and welding it ought to be fittable .You would need an MDX driveshaft (cut to fit ofcourse) .You would need MDX rear driveaxles in fact you would need the uprights some good machinework to get it all back there .Oh and ofcourse a fuel cell since the CL tank will not allow a driveshaft to pass through it .Then let's see a modified MDX rear subframe or modified stock subframe .New ECU that will allow the differential to be electronically controlled .Probably some time to get the whole thing debugged .Lot's of work .
Or go to your local AUdi franchise pick up an S4 and be done with it ,just add gas and insurance and the obligatory monthly payment .

Yup, go get an A4 Quattro or S4. If you're really serious about the AWD/4WD thing, then for the money, why not a WRX? Or maybe even the EVO. But to hack away at a car that's made for FWD is going to cost big bucks. You're better off financially in purchasing another vehicle that has what you want.
