Question Car sort of stalls while driving and won't accelerate

Ok guys, let me first preface this with I've never ventured into CL forums before. I had always owned an '03 TL (IIRC '99 cars are 2nd gen with Acura). I tried a basic search, but I'm not quite sure how to word this properly to get good results.

My sister owns a '99 CL. She recently told me she'll be driving down the road and the car won't accelerate anymore (keep reading before you immediately say "transmission", which is possible). She says all the lights on the dash light up and she has to pull over, turn car off for about a minute or so, turns back on just fine & she's able to drive away no issues. She says it's completely random when it occurs. I know this doesn't explain shit really, but she's also not getting a CEL before/after this occurs either. She's going to bring it to a shop, but I have a feeling it could be so many different things. However, I do remember TLs having an issue with Ignition Switch failing. Are CL models susceptible to this too?

I imagine there are a boat load of threads with similar symptoms. If you can simply say "try searching for _____" is fine with me.

Thats a first gen CL, and it sounds like its possibly the throttle position sensor.

That figures. Well maybe a MOD will move this when they see it.

Thanks for the tip on the TPS.

ignition switch or main relay, either one will cause the symptoms you describe.

When I had an issue similar to this I had just changed my spark plugs that day and I didn't tighten a coil pack down enough. Idk if this is your issue, just my experience. A coil pack may be going bad.

Yeah. Seems like it could be several things but most of what you guys suggested I was thinking of too. Thanks
