Car Mags can suck it!!
i know all the car mags that have tested our cars preformance has done a bad job. I just have to say one thing as proof. I raced a Mercedes brand new S500( which is said to do 0-60 in 6.1 seconds) This was the first hour of ownership of my car. I leave the dealer with a full tank of gas with my friend and are jsut cruzin. this guy checks my car and gives me the "look" we hit and to make a long story short i was about a bumper ahead of him @65. this is before i knew how to break troque or the VSA. this just makes me believe that our cars are damn fast, and we dont get credit for it. Also, the next day(25 hours into ownership) i raced a new Z28 and went head to head until 65 then he started to pull away. NO BULLSHIT here. 100% truth. and too bad if u dont beleive me.

Want to know the truth about your car? Take it to the local drag strip and get some hard numbers. Forget the street racing crap to judge the performance of your car. There are just tooooo many variables in a street race.
Take it to the track. There's no bullshit or excuses there......

Back to street racing. From 20 to 100 you can stay with about anybody up to a GS400 and he doesn't pull you much. Our weakensses are 0-30 and 100+, because of tall 4th. My CLS loses 2 car lengths to my 330i by 50 and then gains all the way to 100. I'm always play racing the CLS (immaturity) and it scoots. What bothers me about the mags is it's left out of so many comparisons that include a4s, c320s, t5s, saabs, and especially is300s that we blow away. An is300 is not even a race, except in a parking lot.

My point here was to prove that the 0-60 times were very wrong. Plus i was doing these races in 45 zones, didnt feel like hittin 90.

I gotta give the nod to the mags because thats what they do, they test cars. Why would they lie or provide wrong info? No one will buy the mags if the info in them was BS. Your little races to 65 dont really prove much. Yeah CLS is fast, numbers vary, .1 here, .1 there, life goes on.

Guys, really... Listen, do you realize that the diffrences in 0-60 times that you are talking about are in fractions of a second!!!
LESS THAN A SECOND!!!
This is almost an un noticeable amount of time. A time differential of like .3 to .5 seconds is like a damn sneeze!
Not a big deal!

Three Wheelin'
The difference is a couple car lengths when it's at 60mph. It's the difference between just beating someone and KICKING THEIR ASS! Hee hee...

Another axample that is more meaningful:
Consider 2 cars, on a darg strip,
Say,
A stock CLS doing 1/4 miles at 14.8 @95MPH.
A moded CLS doing 1/4 miles at 14.3 @99MPH.
Now, the dirfference in the exit speed is just 99/95 miles 4.2% faster. now 1/4 miles is jut 1609/4 402.25 meters, So, if Moded CLS is faster by 4.2% the Stock CLS will lag behind by 402.25 x 0.042 =16.8 meters!! That is at least 3 car lengths!
At 60 MPH difference in speed is much less so, my best guess you should be looking at still a car length by 60.

A New Z-28? Umm, oh--you must mean the Z-28 that was pulling a trailer home, yeah I can see our cars outrunning one of those maybe. Seriously, there is some other reason that Z-28 was lagging around you during this "race". I love my car, but I used to be a pure-bred American Muscle Car fanatic, we may have the them on quality but when it comes to all out speed and power a Z-28 will pound us again and again--headers and CAI or not.

Yeah the First Time I was at the drag strip, I lined up next to monster camaro very old style late 60s or early 70. That monster did the stip in 10sec for 5-6 sec I was just watching his ass... it sounded like a jet not car !!!

I raced a 91 Z28, with my stock CL-S, and beat it up to 65mph, by about 2 feet. Then we had to stop for a traffic light. He went nutz!
