Which car to buy? modded out or super low price?!

i am in a little crisis. both cars would have to be my daily driver which includes insane traffic on the highway in mornings for school.

i have been saving up for a 2003 SSM 3.2CL-S6. it has under 50,000 miles, S/C to 305WheelHP, HBP [not installed yet], etc.

asking price: $16,000. opinions on if its too high? but the guy has taken the best care of the car!! so its even certified by me the buyer

---OR---

2003 SSM 3.2CL-S auto, stock. [[this is located in a rich part of IL where a girls dad buys and sells cars like crazy for his family. now the fam has 2 acura Cl-S's, both for sale so they are offering a super low price under these circumstances]]: $9,000 for each and the one im looking at has 40,000 miles only!!!! only thing is i havent seen the car yet, but the price is insane and perfect. it cant be in as good condition as option #1 im guessing

what do you guys think? either save for 6sp for a while or buy other car asap. money is a bit of a limitation for me...for a little while anyway.

[and please stay away from the fact that one is manual and one is auto...im looking for some good advice based on all else...i would love a 6sp S/C'ed but i can S/C the other since im saving sooo much.]

thanks for reading this and responding!

1st get the auto vin # & see if it's covered under the tranny recall & extended warranty. If it is then it's just up to you. You want a fast already modded fun to drive stick shift CLS, or a stock auto? Mileage isn't really a factor since they are close enough 40 vs 55K miles.

If it's not under the recall then it's simple, get the stick.

I would get the modded stick. 16K is a good price for a SC'd 6mt CLS with 55K miles.

To get that auto to that kind of HP you are looking to spend at least $7k and you still have an auto. (I like my auto but I had the tranny replaced 3 times) Or you can spend the money up front and have something already done. It also comes down if you want your own project or buy someone else's finished projects.

I'd get the auto and leave it stock, put the money in the bank. That price is crazy

If you plan on getting the modded one make sure the components were installed by a professional.

just get that auto one... and if the trans goes, then do the swap, which would be much cheaper.... and plus then you can save some more and buy a S/C....

good luck...

yeah ummm, just test drove the CL-S6 again tonight...

i just thought it was interesting to see what everyone thought, and no one really believes anything is wrong with the $9k car, so nothing special i guess, but that price just seems too low no matter what...

anyway, i just let the test drive do all the thinking for me! <---see the smile lol

I'd go with the 6 speed but definitely try talking him down.
