Question Can someone post a picture of the bypass valve actuator?

I don't have a TypeS and I need to show someone where it is under the hood and what it looks like. And no I don't need the picture from www.acuraautomotiveparts.org Already got that one.

Anyone?

Thanks spdy. Must be me but I can't get the pics to show on any of the threads I searched. My client blocks just about everything on the web. I'll try it from home.

Neil, it is right underneath the upper cross member on the passenger side... on the backside of the Intake Manifold... (2) 10mm bolts hold it in place, the cable needs easily removed and the Actuator needs unplugged... 5 minute removal job..

Thanks Smitty. I am in the process of buying a CL TypeS IM and the guy doesn't know what the BVA looks like. He doesn't have it on the car so he wanted to know what it looks like.

I got a quick question for the actuator professionals, mine moves but it doesnt move much. It moves slightly not like the pictures in the link. Does that mean the actuator isnt really working too well? I dont feel a big gain at 4k rpm i only feel a little gain during vtec. What should i do?

The movement is fixed... it won't move 1/2 way... it either works or doesn't work. You can also check to see if there is too much tension in the cable.

the acctuator motor doesnt fail...the teeth in the gear do...if some teeth have broken off it may only move until that point

Let me ask you this question, what if i fix it so that the actuator stays open all the time. Will I still have lots of power up top? What will be the outcome of keeping the actuators open????

You will lose a lot of low end torque. The prupose of the actuator is to open the butterfly in the IM to allow more air into the engine >3800-4200rpm. Leaving it open otherwise will give you no gain at all.

if you were to run from a roll with the RPMs above 3800 there would be no difference...it would only effect rpms below 3800 like from a standing start or low rpm cruising

Its weird I dont feel a kick below vtec. I've also checked for the actuator play but it doesnt turn as much as the pictures show, its half of that it barely turns... I'm not sure what i should do. I'm thinking if i keep it open and try to feel for a difference i can figure out if its opening entirely or partially...
