I am going to buy an 01 CL-S from an Acura dealer this week.

It has 74k miles.

I will ask about the tranny issue to see if it has been replaced.

I know that the tranny is covered by a 7/100 warranty by default through acura... if I understood correctly from the other threads.

My question is can I buy an extended warranty on this vehicle? I was reading and read that a 100k warranty should run about $1000? Is this 100k in addition to the odometer? Or that up until 100k miles?

any other suggestions on how to protect this car under warranty?

I believe to get the extended warranty on their cars it has to be a certified used car. I could be wrong though.

You cannot get an Acura extended warranty with that milage. However you can get an aftermarket extended warranty. Some are good, some are bad. I never bought one so I'm not sure about the quaily of them.
