Can the CL-S take a Celica GT-S?

I remember my stock ITR having some difficulty with it, but I always did have the upper hand. I wonder bout the CL-S.

anyone run into one yet?

I had an ITR before I got my CL-S too. I haven't had the chance to race a GT-S with either car but the CL-S should be ahead up to at least 110mph.

A Celica GTS is no match for a CL-S. I have driven one and it's a quick car but just doesn't pull as hard as the CL-S.

My Girlfriend drives a 2000 Celica GT-S with a six-speed. Its a very fast car, but its still slower than the CL-S. You really have to shift the hell out of it to even keep up with the CL-S.

I believe Gold raced once and didn't have too much of a problem w/it. Don't know about the quality of that particular driver though. With a good driver it should be a good race if he can launch it well.

I also had an ITR before the S. I didn't race one off the line, but I did have the privalige to race him from 60+ He punched it before me, and I caught up to him AND passed him. I don't think these cars are all that

i almost bought a GT-S instead of the CL-S.
The GTS felt fast when i test drove it. It won.t beat our CL-S COZ my gf's friend has a 6-speed GTS, and i ran with him for couple times, i won all the races. The GT-S is really fast too.

Well I have a CLP with AEM CAI, Pulleys and Denso plugs.... Well I raced this riced GTS with exhaust.... Yes, this car can be VERY fast, thats IF its driven professionaly..... I've driven one before, 1st to 2nd is the hardest thing... if you just let go the clutch, it will lock up the rpm and take a while to get into the VVTi-L range...

I raced him off the line, 5 times in a row, he sucked at launch, sucked at changing gears, and I beat him like BADLY, like several cars behine me... Even at 50mph, I was next to him, revved, then pulled in 2nd, he still way back there.... One reason, HE SUCKED! When I went to drag wars, most GTS are running 16s or high high 15s.... So if my CLP can take it easy, you shouldnt have any problems......

BTW, after I spanked him, he was soo mad, and hunted for other cars on the next several lights, and he spanked an AccordV6 and GSR.... Oh well!

Yeah, I raced one three times when I was stock. I thought it was fairly well-driven... he was revvin' it up to about 3-4k rpms (my guess) on the launch. I still killed him on the launch each time (gawd, I love torque!) and pulled about 2-3 cars by 80mph. Overall, the two cars are very closely matched. After the launch I was VERY slowly pulling on him. Before these three races, we were playing from a roll. He was a couple cars behind me and I heard him get on it. Thinkin' it would be an easy kill, I let him get momentum and get all the way up to my rear bumper before I hit it. We took that up to about 80mph and he was about 1/4 car in front of me. Moral of the story.... take them seriously cuz we're not THAT much faster!

i can confirm w/ goldtypes...dont underestimate the gt-s 6 spd...raced my friend 4 times...two rolling and two dead stop...beat him all 4 times...he stayed close w/ me till 60 since he can hit that in 2nd, but like gold, started to pull in the 80+ mph range...forget about taking them in the twisties...gt-s will dust our boats...
