Someone I know who built up a Porsche can. He also beats up Ninja's. His track 0-60 times are in the 3 sec range, 1/4 miles times of 7's at over 120mph. It's a sick car. Totaly street legal too.

dunno. I've seen accident photos of a zx-11d vs. hyundai excel where the bike split the car in two (right behind the driver's side door) after t-boning it at a highway intersection. estimated speed at impact was 140-150 mph for the bike, and 15-25 for the car. it killed the rider and the 3 people in the car in an instant.

sounds like my mechanics car...he does 2.7 second 0-60 in 1st gear! ...1/4 at around 8 I believe....

if he's running 7s at the track his trap speed is going to be closer to 200mph

if you're talking about rolling on the throttle at 125 mph (approx 200 kmh), then that's quite likely.

if you're talking about running from a stop, your porsche would need to run upper 9's at 145 mph (approx 230 kmh) in the 1/4 mile to even keep up with the 'busa.

so, while you may accelerate better from 125 mph, you would be so far behind at that speed (assuming from a stop) that it really wouldn't do you much good until the bike hit its aerodynamic wall approaching the 180mph range.

You'll need a lot more MPH in the quarter for 7s; more like 180-190 MPH.

A car that traps 120 would be more like a mid 11 car.

You'd need a Top Fuel or Funny Car to be able to slow to a 120 trap and still get a 7 second ET.

No way a street legal Porche runs 7s.

So it's faster then then 120 in the 1/4. I'm not sure the exact speeds. He claims it is street legal. Maybe he has to put stuff on when he drives it on streets?

If it runs 7s...it's no longer street legal....by NHRA rules...that car would have to have so many safety mods that it would no longer be legal on the street...not to mention..he probably has no cat....or bumper reinforcements.

If astro still has his Suzuki GSX1000 it is quoted as faster than the Hyabusa.

this is true, but the 'busa is still a formidable bike for the street.

I still have my 1000, and yes it is faster than the busa....
but I'm telling you, that my car will outpull a busa from a rolling start at 20km/h all the way to 300km/h+....I have done several of these roll on runs with 1000's, R1's and my buddies busa...I always win...

mind you, that's prolly not true anymore, cuz he turbo'd his busa...

what gear are they starting off in?!?? 5 or 6th?

and more importantly, what does your porsche run in the 1/4 mile? stock, I would have thought it could run it in the 12 second range. is this not the case? is your car modded?

That might be true, but the question is can anyone beat it and so JZ answered that question. Stop trying to take the thread off course.

actually, fucktard, the question was "Can anyone kick the ass of a Suzuki Hayabusa SuperBike", I am discussing the relative merits of the 'busa, and you are being a bone smuggler.

is the connection clear enough for you, or do I need to take my dick out of your mouth so you can read a little better?

First of all, Tankmonkey, that was a stupid comment.

Anyway, that is SW's supra, very nice guy who hangs out at supraforums and also has a 9 second street legal C5 with some other 9 second cars.

Yes a Supra can beat a hayabusa, I have video of a guy named Walser up in Canada somwhere with an insane 800 + HP Supra. He takes on 2 hayabusa on a highway from a 70+ roll. The one Busa that went 9.? at the track beats him but another one next to him just gets walked by this supra. It's an incredible machine.

BTW some DL the 205 mph flyby, I have it , it's crazy.

From what I hear there are actually a couple registered 7-8 second cars in the US, mainly Stangs.

AND I KNOW there is a 70's Dart out in Ponoma, CA that runs trap speeds of 200 mph+. He keeps a real low key though because he only brings it out every now and then, and it's for money. Street racing can actually bring in some good money.

I've seen the kind of cars you're talking about. Street legal only to the letter of the sanctioning bodies. Not "streetable" at all though. You're actually mostly in the 8 second range on the stangs like a few Super Street Outlaw cars (though someone may have went to the trouble of registering a 7 second one, I guess)

I just want to know how that guy keep that Dart low key...

"Um...yeah, it's pretty much stock...wanna race? Huh...no that just looks like 16" slicks and a full backhalf...it's realy just some ladder bars and stuff"...lol...

Pull_T i'm pretty sure he brought it out in the dark. Sometimes the guys who raced him knew what they somewhat were up against...they took the risk.

Actually dude, watch that video again - the Supra driver mis-shifts and cuts out of the race after two gears.

There's a second video of him racing just the one 'busa and kicking it's ass.

I have not had the opportunity to take my porsche to the track, but I'm getting about 480AWHP...I would say I pull high 11 1/4 miles...but against a bike, my advantage is launching...most guys who street ride cannot drag a bike very well...it's awfully hard to launch well and not pull the front tire over your head...that's where I get my lead and from there, my car is just SO much faster...

well, I can certainly understand that. the thought of looping an $11,000 550lb bike would definitely blunt my launch.

not that this is on topic (hey, jrock! ), but I haven't managed that feat yet (but I've never owned a liter bike, either).

I did manage to nut myself once leaving the starting grid on a production-class ysr 50 (7hp, maybe).

but that's a topic for another time (and/or forum).

I looped a 97 GSX-R 750 I had after deciding it would be cool to wheelie for my friends...
did 2 nice ones, then ended up sliding down the road behind my sliding bike...
didn't get charged or anything, but I learned my lesson...
