CAI Tube Insulation from Heat?

Just ordered Icebox. Found this insulating wrap on one site that sells CAI.

http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...=yes&dept=3023

Anyone used this before? Seems like it would help b/c would block heat that radiates from engine from penetrating intake, which is what CAI is all about... Any thots?

Also, got me thinking that perhaps this is 1 reason the Icebox offers better gains. AEM and Injen intake tubes are metal and likely transmit engine bay heat better. Icebox is plastic. Any thots?

Thanks.

I currently have a thermo wrap over the CAI system.

Different material though than the link described.

The material I have is an aerospace reflect product- around 40 bones a foot or something. It covers the entire TB and CAI and reflects all types of heat xfered energy.

I think it helps for the track and when it car is
standing still for extented periods.
