CAI Making Strange Noises
My CAI makes a strange wheezing noise when I drive just after starting the car at around 2000 rpms. It lasts for about 5 minutes and then eventually goes away. I live in San Diego where in the morning, the temperature is currently 45 so I don't think the weather is the culprit. The noise goes away after 5 minutes of driving.
Someone posted about resetting the ECU or something? It just sounds like the engine doesn't know what to do or something...

Whew
I love this forum and all of you guys who posted. (Group hug). Anyhow, thanks for the replies, I WAS wigging out or at least pissed that maybe the air bypass filter was somehow leaky and the engine was sucking air through there or the airflow was somehow getting caught up and whirling in there. Regardless, didn't someone mention there's a recall on the AEM bypasses? I think the rubber stops are too flimsy and probably do allow air (and particles) in.

There is a voluntary recall or something. You can send back the bypass valve and get a new one I think. There were a few cases where plastic portions of the bypass came loose and were sucked into the throttle body. Check out www.aempower.com for details.
