CAI install...How?

Just curious how do you remove the air filter box in the CL-S? I think I read somewhere that you had to remove the front bumper. Is that true and is there a way around that?

I saw detailed instructions to install the AEM cold air intake on autocarparts.com Just follow the link to AEM and then "install instructions" if memory serves me correctly. BTW-the first step is removing the bumper which sounds like a big pain in the ass.

If it is the same as the 1st gen in any way, there should be clips that hold in the black plastic gaurd area underneath the engine. Sorry, I will go outside and check it out and see if it is the same

Oh, and for the removing the bumper part, you most likely DO NOT have to do that. So just wait on it for a while until someone gives a detailed way.

Okay, I just checked out my sisters CL-S...there are clips that you need to remove..Underneath the bumper area and then in the wheel well. You need to jack up the car and take the driver side tire off and take off the plastic gaurd, enough so that you can slide out the resonator box I believe. Sorry, not my car so I cant pop open the hood.

BTW, by follwoing the direction on autocarparts.com would help quite a bit. And IMO, removing the front bumper is a <10 minute chore that then allows full access and veiwing for the install.

You do not have to remove the bumper on the install. You have to remove the plastic clip fasteners from under the front left side of the car and pull it back. You will have full access to unbolt the resonator box Plus less chance of damaging the bumper during the process.
