Do the dealers use this meathod? The PDF file (Purolator & Baldwin) instructions say to take off part of the center console too.

Holy cow this thread is old!
Just FYI, I posted some pics comparing the Purolator and OEM filters in another old thread - http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91473
There's some good info in there too.

I just installed my filters I bought at pep boys for $20 (for the pair). I found these instructions the most useful.

When I replaced my filters for the first time, the stock filters(OEM) were purolator. So save some money and go to you local auto parts store.

The non-charcoal cabin filter for the CLS (R2060-64341) is $15.11.
The version for WITH THE CHARCOAL LAYER (R2061-138860) is $15.94
Hmmm… so, it cost an additional $0.83 for the filter with the activated carbon…

filter replacement in 03
Hey All,
I just replaced the cabin filters on my 03 CLS. The instructions are close but slightly different for the 03. Three screws on glove box, left and right hinge and air piston on right side. Cut the plastic panel in the center out and save for reassembly. Took about 30 minutes.

Hmmm reading up on all the cabin air filters given my mom's other car had filters so dirty, leaves and all sorts of debris entered the fans inside the car and made the fans howl really loud, so i finnally took out the filter, checked it, still seemed to howl (after massively blowing out all the debris i could find) we thought maybe the fans or the motor had given up but turns out it was just replacing the filter (thank god) and that was on a 32,000mile car, her acura has 59,000! and i highly doubt the first owners ever changed em so here i go...detaills to follow
