BWSST: are you guilty?

the may 2004 issue of motortrend ran an intresting article on BWSST's- Big Wheels with Short Sidewall Tires. You've no doubt noticed that it is the current trend with todays youth. taking your ride, and "slamming it". In the article, various cars/SUV's were fitted with BWSST's, and their effects on handling, acceleration, braking, and ride quality were at times shocking! The thing that shocked me the most was the effect of BWSST's on the car's other suspension components over time. Now I know why most dealers threaten to void your warranty, when they see you rollin' in on "dubs". the suspension was just not built with all that extra pounding in mind.

thoughts?

did they change the suspension on the test cars, or just the wheels?

most people who swap out the wheels for bigger ones replace the suspension also
