Buying a 2nd car....maybe

not sure if this is int he right place:
I recently started my own business and its starting to take off.

Ive had my eye on an 08 Acura RL being sold privately in my neighborhood. I'm living alone and currently driving an 03 cl-s6.
My question is for anyone who owns 2 cars but lives alone do you find yourself driving one more than the other? Will the cl be fine sitting for a while unused and vice-versa for the RL?

(I know double insurance double maintenance)

My CL is my DD and my truck is mostly for the weekend, partly because the CL is cheaper, but its also more fun to drive and would rather rack up the miles on the CL since I'm at 169k anyways.

Start the CL once a week and take it for a quick spin just to keep things fresh. Do an oil change at the beginning and end of the season, regardless of how many miles is on it.

This is an interesting question. When I was in flight school in Florida in 99, I had a 98 Prelude Type SH which I LOVED to this day. X-mas break, my mom told me to fly home (I was employed at United Airlines so I flew for 0.00) that there wouldn't be much room to park all of our families cars. So I fly home and realized i was gifted a brand new 00 S2000 . That said, when i drove back to Orlando, I would drive to ands from school in Daytona Beach, I'd drive the prelude as it was a better road trip car than the s2k. I'd drive than on the weekends and auto-x'g on weekends at the Locheed-Martin parking lot on Orlando. In your case, the CL/RL are 2 luxury cars that can be driven for the same purposes. I could understand if you owned a Civic coupe to commute because there would be a huge difference in mpg doing city driving to not drive the RL but on road trips or to a nice restaurant with valet parking. I know what your problem is. You dont want to part with a car youve had a good life with for years... . I had to make this decision too when in 02', i was selling my Prelude. I was so picky that I would only sell it to someone that would care for that car like i had the last 4yrs. I'd say post it for sale. If you find someone like YOU to purchase your car, then you know your "baby" is still getting the care you'd be giving it. Then take some of the money you made on the CL to buy a say 04 Civic EX for a commuter car. At least that car gets 30/40mpg and on 87 vs putting 93 octane in 2 cars that barely get 20mpg cty/ 28-29 hwy tops. Just a thought .

Blasphemy....lol your exactly right my cls6 is the only (of 10 vehicles ive owned) that i actually love. I won't part with this car until its totaled rusted away or something catastrophic happens to it.

The cls is awesome. now with coils its so much more fun to drive. But i drove an RL and it was love at first sight (I guess i'm a car morman)

I say get a battery maintainer too. We have 2 drivers in my house with 3 cars. The third car only get's driver every 2-4 weeks and after 2 weeks the battery goes dead.
I don't really like starting the car and only going around the block since the water is still in the oil and exhaust system and the car is not hot enough to evap the water away.

Good point. Where I live "around the block" is about a 15 mile drive

And on a battery tender.
