Bumper Painting question
Alright, my bumper has gone to shit...The OEM grill spokes have snapped off at the top, the paint where the license plate was is ruined, and lots of curb rash.
If I buy a bumper from AcuraAutomotiveParts and take it to a body shop to paint, what're the odds that the color will not match? And care to gimme a guesstimate for the paint job so I know how much to save?

Even if you get factory paint, the Fading of a normal car will probably make the colors slightly differnt. You can get paint in the factory color though Zolt. My

A decent body shop should be able to match the paint to your vehicle. Some might need an extra 1/2 an hour and a full hour to do so but it should be well worth it to match it exactly. Also, be sure they use flex additive so your bumper won't crack when it gets hit by minor things like shopping cart.

Had my bumpers done at a body shop last year... color matching is an art, and I think that I lucked out as ther are many flavours of "satin silver" for example. The guy brought out a whole deck of paint sample strips (must have been at least 20) and they were all variations of Satin Silver. He picked the one that was closest and the match, when finished was perfect... actually much better than factory. I now have an o3 agean blue and the bumpers are significantly darker than the rest of the paint.
Cost for my repaint job was $350 Can. per bumper, and that included removing and re installing. They cannot do a good job with the bumper still on.
It is worth the time and money to find a good body shop...

my friend has a new TL; he scraped the back bumper and when he went to get it taken care of the body shop showed him that both his bumpers were not exactly color matched to the body... shop said that the factory is pretty sloppy about matching body/bumper colors (!?! they must paint them separately?). ended up respraying them both, look perfect now.
