Broken front motor mount, but out of warranty
Got my car back from a scheduled service, and the dealer rep told me the front engine mount is broken. They quoted me $230 to replace it.
I remember reading here that broken engine mount is a common problem for 2nd gen CL. So I asked if it is covered under warranty. He of course says no, since I have 75,000 mile on the car.
Any suggestion on what to do?
Thanks.

Just had mine replaced (at my cost) as well at 82k miles. I checked if there were any TSB's which there were not so I didnt pursue it as gratis. Guess I should have. Definitely get it fixed either way though. I paid roughly that same price.

I just got a call from the service rep about my front engine mount being broken. $240 quote. My warranty ended in November, only have 47K miles on it. I dropped the car off to get the tranny replaced (2nd replacement). Is 47K enough miles to warrant me paying for it? I don't have far to drive for work, so that's why the 4 year part got me instead of the 50K.

Since it's a common problem, you could try to talk to the Zone Representative. They are the ones with the ability to OK repairs on good will.
If not, you can replace them yourself if you're mechanically inclined. If not, take it to a local auto repair center like Midas or something. They are usually much cheaper than dealerships.

its removed from the top...you'll have to jack up the engine but not the car and...you'll wanna un do the side mount near the PS pump...you'll need a 17 mm long socket and a swivel for the bolts that hold the mount to the frame and i would also have a longer handle socket wrench or breaker bar to get those loose also several extensions 1 hour job

Technically, the motor mount should be under warranty...trans causes enough force when downshifting or during lockup to break...had mine replaced twice no ??? asked.
