Brembo Blanks - oem pads or ceramic?
I took the 01 type S to Acura service dept for broken heater. Told them brakes making noises (3rd rotor turn was at 15K miles) now 35K miles. They wouldn't turn rotors under warranty since 50% of pad wasn't left. They wanted $150 to turn rotors and use my own oem pads I purchased a year ago. I instead ordered Brembo blanks from tirerack for $50 each. Should I use stock pads or ceramic pads. Does it really make a noticable difference in braking or fade with ceramic? I know calipers determine this, but is there any difference. If going ceremic, I take it you should replace front and rear? Thanks.

The oe pads for this car are a ceramic compound. If I were you I'd replace the pads myself. It's not that hard plus the Brembo oe's are a lot better than Acura oem rotors IMHO. If you're replacing the rotor you may as well replace the pads with quality pads (Axxis Ultimate, AEM, EBC Greenstuff,HAWK HP's) unless you want to do it again once the pads are worn out.

From older post on this forum, some contacted Brembo, the blank OE rotors they sell are of the exact composition of the sloted/x-drilled on brembo sells, so i think they are great quality.
Go with hi-perf. pads...i just got the rotora rotora and axxis ultimates. Axxis Metal masters are upgrade from our stock ones, they probabaly last about 40K miles. But the Axxis Ultimates give better bite, they have more stoping power, but they last about 20K miles.
Don't go to your dealer to get service done. Here in Orange County, local shops charge $30 to resurface rotors. And if your rotors are already off the car, you can take it to kragens, they charge you $14/pair to resurface.
