Breaking News, 1/4 mile: 02 Maxima SE = 15s@95MPH, and 02 Atima 3.5 = 14.9s@95.x MPH

Compact Sport Car tested both the V6 02 Maxima and Altima with stick tranny:

Quick numbers:

02 Altima 3.5, 5-speed stick tranny:
=========================
0-60 in 6.7sec
1/4 mile in 14.9s @95.x MPH
Dynoed at: 200 HP @6100 rpm, 215 lbft

02 Maxima 3.5, 6-speed stick tranny:
=========================
0-60 in 6.9sec
1/4 mile in 15.0s @95.x MPH
Dynoed at: 218 HP @6100 rpm, 230 lbft

Woww, talk about the BS numbers at Maxima.org
I understand now why some CL-S never lost to ANY 02 Maxima!!!

Still their Auto versions would be smacked by our great CL-S

SO if a magazine said that the CLS did 15.6 in the 1/4, then we should belive that too?

Fastest 2002 stock proven times on maxima.org:

auto: 14.7 (maybe 14.6 but I'm sure of the 14.7)
6spd: 14.3

The 6spd time was for a first-time stick shift owner. Conclusion? SCC can't drive for sh*t.

(Personally I'd rather have the CL-S 6-spd, but I want to keep things fair)

I agree w/Weasel. My car DYNO'd at 236hp/200tq and I can run 14.3s or better on a good day and consistent 14.4s on an average day. Let's not forget that both cars are ~300 pounds lighter than ours.

why is everyone so obsessed with 1/4 mile times? who care what other cars get.. if you cared about 1/4 mile times so much you should have saved your money and gotten a wrx or something.. compared to 80% of cars out on the road that normal people drive you guys are faster, if that helps make up for something else your lacking or something..

That was one article that left me puzzled. The torque and hp curves were up there, but the ETs didn't match up. Perhaps they loaded the cars up and were running on a hot day

That is one test, and there has been some pretty wide variance in results on the Altima 3.5L in the mags already.

You really are fucking annoying sometimes...

Now I've got to move a 5 y/o thread, and lock it... I've got better things to do... So next time you want to talk about Maximas, how 'bout you post in Cartalk, or better yet, find a nice Maxima forum.
