break upgrade question...

break upgrade question...

my friend just turned my rotors and i put autozone cheap pads on...they squeek and squeel and im going crazy...they say i can upgrade to ceramics for the difference but my concerne is...if the squeek doesnt go away ill wanna go with new rotors...most likely rotora slotted...will these pads be fine for those?

Usually its not the rotors that squeak its the pads. When you apply pressure the pads vibrate at high speeds which is what can cause squealing .. did you use the anti-squeal "DISC BRAKE QUIET" stuff when you installed them?

I'd go to a local auto parts store and pick up a bottle of that stuff. Its usually a bright neon orange gel but I've seen it in a neon green too .. take the brakes back apart and smear some of that stuff on the backs of the pads then reinstall, it usually works. when it hardens its a rubbery substance that dampens vibrations on the pads.

Also lube the shims and contact points of the pads to caliper mount.
