Boston to Syracus (and back)
Took my CL for its first road trip of any length. Must say it's a great car for road trips of any length. Boston to Syracus is about 325 miles and takes about five hours. The car is a joy to drive on the highway. Quiet, powerful, comfortable and with stereo on it's a nice environment to be in. Reletive to my previous car, an Acura GSR, I felt fine after five hours behind the wheel. No real fatigue to speak of.
The CL can't gobble up grear as easily as my GSR did. My girlfriend and I each had our golf clubs (only played once due to the freakish rain), pull carts and weekend bags. That pretty much filled the car up.
On a side note: we listened to John Mc Cain's book "Faith of Our Fathers" on tape during the road trip. Amazing book. Highly recommend it. Seemed appropriate to listen to this book on Memorial Day weekend. You will not believe what he and other POWs went through.

I have to agree with you there " Quiet, powerful, comfortable and with stereo on it's a nice environment to be in." I took a day trip to Maine (about 220 round trip) loaded up too! Had the wife and kids (8yrs and 4yrs) so there was enough room for us all to spread out. Even managed to get pillows in the back seat area for the kids.

Where is my super sauce?
Between the comfortable adjustable seats, the seat heaters, the automatic climate control, the cabin filters, the navigation system, OnStar, the quiet ride (2003, no dumbo ears), the HID headlights, the powerful engine that has the ability to go about 30MPG on the highway, and even the stock stereo, I agree with you -- the CL-S makes a fine long-cruise car. I've only gone on a few long trips, but I've been very happy too.

Happy CL-S Pilot
It is lovely ride from Nashua to Montreal 287 miles of fun drive each way.. just watch out of Speeders Hunters on the way.. V1 does its best but cops prefer to park after the Apex of a Hill where V1 can't help too much.

i did the syracuse road trip from long island. 3 hours and 8 minutes to get from westbury long island to syracuse university to pick up my friend. I also had the cruise control set at 100mph...but thats not the issue, i was highly impressed with our gas mileage...it was like 300+ miles and i just under half a tank when i got there.

I will soon probably be setting the record for having one of the newest 03 CLS6 speeder with high mileage.starting June 23 and continuing into the first week of October, I will be making WEEKLY round trips from Palatine, Il (near O'hare airport) to Hillsboro, Ohio (50 miles east of cincinnatti). This is an almost 800 mile round trip. On may 30, my car will be exactly six months old and will have 10,500 on the odo (I travel a LOT.)
Figureing @ 800 miles per week, easy, that should add another 12,800 to the car, so now we are at at least 23,300 while barely 10 months old! And seeing that I will be living in a hotel from Monday through Friday, and traveling to and from on Saturday and Sunday (that schedule will "rotate", company rules don't allow working any more than 13 days in a row), I think I will really be the guy to check with for long term comfort.
I have "earned" this priviledge because I proposed a unique, time saving scheme for powder coating Hobart food mixers. Well, my scheme worked, the company cut a check for 997,000$ to make the new painting line, and I am the "insurance" guy to make this work. It better, or I may be looking for new employment (it WILL work).
I guess this makes the case to "be careful what you wish for" because sometimes it happens. Anyway, the overtime pay should be fabulous at $36/hr @ 16 hours per week, every week.
Why not fly? Two reasons. Including time to and through the airport, a one hour flight=6.5 to 7 hours in a car. And Hillsboro is STILL about two hours away from either Cincy, Dayton or Columbus. And then I am stuck with a POS rental car.
I could just stay in Hillsboro, but then I would be neglecting my both 85 year old Mom and Dad, who need lots of help. Plus, I want to sleep in my own bed at least one night a week, and someone has to pay the bills. Me! God, I hate hotels!
