When we were still installing CD changers in the trunk I would take a bit of tape and stick the connector to a long thin screwdriver and guide it to the port on the back of the radio .Once there I would use another thin screwdriver to gently get the connector in to the radio then it was just a matter of a stiff push and click it was in there .

I did it like this:

1. Feel in back of the headunit for the space where the connector plugs in. This will let you know exactly what you need to do.
2. Put the plug in between the top of the two fingers next to your thumb on your right hand. As you saw from step one you have a VERY LIMITED SPACE to work with so you will only be able to use these two fingers to plug it in.
3. Guide the plug into the whole and push it in.

This is EASIER SAID THAN DONE! It took me a good 15 minutes and 30 attempts to finally get it in the whole. Just be patient and you will eventually guide it in there. If necessary get a female to help you out, they have smaller fingers so it should be easier for them to do it.

Just remeber it is NOT difficult just a bit tedious and time consuming. It will not take as much time as pulling out the headunit though!

That is the only thing I took off.

Try #1 to see what you need to do. I have fairly skinny fingers so it wasn't to difficult for me.

a blitzsafe adapter allows yout o connect RCa sound inputs to the stock head unit. SO you can connect a mp3 player, sound from a dvd player or add another cd changer.

I stuck my hand underneath and reached up to plug it in.
I had to take one of those yellow clips that holds the wiring in place, out of its socket. Then you hand will fit. It took me like 4 or 5 tries, but I got it!!!

NO, it takes in LINE LEVEL, so it goes directly from you source, IPOD, mp3 player, cd player, etc etc, to the deck. No need to tune to an FM station. You just hit the CD button on the deck, and with the blitz safe adaptor hooked up, it will go from CD to CD1!!!! I have my IPOD hooked up to my CL with the blitz safe adaptor, and it works GREAT!!!!!! AMAZING SOUND!!!! It does help that the IPOD has a built in EQ!!!

Blitzsafe adapter

Mike,
I just put mine in last week. What a pain in the a**! I finally gave up and my girlfriend said, "let me try" and did it in two tries. Thank God for small hands. I hooked up XM radio and its awesome! Sounds incredible. I bought the v1.d so I could hook up a IPOD as well.

AztecRol,
What adapter do I need to buy for the IPOD to connect to the Blitzsafe? What model IPOD do you have?
Thanks.

I used this one from Monster Cable. It goes from you headphone jack straight to the Blitz Safe adaptor!!

http://www.antaca.com/electronics/ID...able_for_iPod/

I also bought this Monster Charger.

I have a 20GIG one, its the one that was out just before the new one came out a few months ago. The Charger wont work for the new ones!!!!!

I just ran the iCable under the center console and drilled a small hole in the bottom of the center console so the wire comes up in the center glove box!! I really should post some pics of this!!!

So is there only one type of blitzsafe adaptor? I mean, I understand that they make different applications for different cars, but do they all serve the same purpose (RCA input)? The reason I ask is because I went to a Circuit City that is a certified dealer of Blitzsafe products, and when I explained the adaptor as connecting to the HU on one end and having RCA inputs on the other, they told me that no such product existed for Blitzsafe. They said that they only have ones that connect the HU to aftermarket auxillaries that require a wir bundle (ie CD Changer). I don't think they know what they're talking about. So...I basically asking for the model number of the Blitzsafe adaptor that has RCA inputs on it? Thanks in advance man.

I also posted this question in the AV forum.

OK, here goes. The first one you posted is your everyday monster wire, its OK. Cheapest wire and connectors they make. Look at how big the 1/8" side is!! HUGE!!! Look at the connectors on the RCA side compared to the 400 series, plastic versus metal!!!!

The second one is the one I got, it is made to used where it will be seen. It has this "snakeskin" around it, so it doesnt look so much like a wire. It also has the smallest 1/8" end on it!!!! This
is important, if you want to run this wire into your center glove box!!!

The third one you posted, 400 series, is one of the better wires and some of their best connectors that they make. It is a mid range cable and is great if you want to hook your ipod to your home stereo system. They only come in short lengths and the 1/8" side is HUGE!!! Most expensive one here too!!

The last one you posted, THX one is a new one to me. I have never seen or used this product. By looking at the price and the connectors, it is probably not as good as the first one you posted, the 200 series one. It does have a small connector on it and will do the job!!

It all depends on what you want to use it for and how much you wanna spend!!

wtf?

Does this guy know what hes talking about?

They even have it listed on their website that there is no blitzsafe adapter for the 6 disc changers, but I've talked to a few people, and they say this is the one. Someone please guide me in the right direction, this is the one I planned to buy.

http://www.logjamelectronics.com/blitzhonauxdmxv1.html

This is the right one, isn't it? I don't know why it says it wont work with the 6 disc in-dash changers.

Hi Aaron:
I'm sorry but there are no adapters made that will work with your
factory in-dash 6-disc changer.

Sorry,

Which blitzsafe adapter do I need to connect an auxiliary sound unit
(iPod) to my 6 disc in-dash CD changer?

Thanks!

The link you posted is the one I have. Works just fine!!
Mine just has the aux line level in wires. Some of the
other ones have those wires as well as a female din plug
for plugging in an Alpine outboard 6 cd changer.

The model number the one with the din plug AND the aux in is
HON/ALP DMX V.1D

Good luck!!!
