Big difference in hp b/w K&N drop-in and AEM CAI???

I have the K&N drop-in in the car right now, and I did feel a slight increase in power, and it even made the intake slightly louder, but definetelt nothing like a CAI. I mainly chose it b/c I didn't want the extra noise and I didn't want to always worry about water, like in my last car.

anyone know the average hp increase with the AEM? Now i'm starting to wonder if i should've gotten it.

I'm guessing the K&N gave about 3-5 hp.

CAI gives at least 10 on a dyno! Where and how much did you pay for Comptech headers and sways? Did you get springs also to lower a much needed 1.5in.?
Happy new silver CL-S owner! BlazerBob

You can look back a bit, and there is a graph of the AEM (it is an average of a bunch of runs, and was provided [indirectly] by AEM). I think the gain may have been around 8-10hp. I dropped some guides in Photoshop over the CAIHP.jpg image I downloaded and it looks like close to 10HP. But don't forget, this is an average of a ton of runs, so it isn't like your getting to see the best and the worst possible improvements.

Is that a K&N that directly replaces the stock filter?

What kind of maintenance to the K&N drop-ins require? I think there is some cleaning solution, and some type of oil for the filter. How often is this process needed?
