beat a GTS (highway race)

ran a friend of a friends 98 celica GTS on the highway.. he had full body kit...dropped..CAI.. cat back exhaust.. AFC.. dunno what else.. best time he said was 14.8 in the 1/4.. neways we were driving side by side.. at about 110-120kmh then we looked at each other .. then we went.. after 3 honks.. dropped it to 3rd in SS..i think he dropped it to 3rd or 4th.. he had 6spd..
neways.. soon as i did that .. started pulling on em.. when he shifted to 4th pulled even more.. took it to 200 then shut down..we were steady about 3-4 car lengths at 200,... damn our tall ass..4th gear.. haha. neways it was a good race.. lucky there was no cops..
should be more careful next time...

his is not stock..
but the stock numbers are 180HP for the GTS (6SPD)
Toyotas attempt to compete with TYPE-R integras.
and this guy is light/skinny.. he prob weighs "a buck-o-5" haha.

The new GT-S is aaiiight.
It's only a shell of what the GTS used to be.
I'd rather have me a 92 GTS All-Trac Turbo.
The thing was about 190hp(If I remember correctly)
Had more torque(due to turbo)
AND had AWD
That was the cars peak. After the 92 and 93 years, the car went down hill, up until 2000, but its still not what it used to be.

Just like their stupid commercial with the bodykit on with the dog running into it while it was parked and an old man cursing at it to slow down when it was also parked.

A GTS is an easy kill! I blasted one from a stop, beat him about 2-3 cars to 80.

I have owned both cars, and i hate to break it to you , but a GTS is not an easy kill.............the car has 180hp and only weighs 2500lbs. I have taken both cars to the track here in orlando and both cars i got a 15.1. I know i could of done better with both cars but it was really hot out both times. The GTS is 10 times more fun to drive also, but just not as refined inside.

If you go to newcelica.org you will see that the average times over there with intake or stock is right with the times i see on this board with intake, stock or headers.

Oh, and by the way there is no 98' GTS, it was a 2000+, you should find out which year it is because the 2000 and 2001's are faster than the 2002.

Cute car but not very quick. Is there a large mod community for it? I would think it would be a nice small car for a turbo upgrade and it's a Toyota so one would think it would be dependable (well I thought that about Acura too...).
