Beat to death, but heres my review on UR Crank!
Got my pulley installed today, just the crank, because i am tired of spending money on this car. Beyond that, the weight savings on the other 2 pulleys is not significant enough to warrant a change.
Anyways, on with the review. First of all, there is a big difference in weight. I held stock in one hand and ur in the other, it was a huge difference. The ur is like a frisbee where the stock is like a heavy pot. (analogy sucks, i know)
The first impression was that the car had more response in low rpms. It seemed as if the torque converter had a higher stall since the revs would jump up easier. Driving on the freeway, i had some runs from 80 to 100. No difference on those.
Went to grab a bite, came back, and the "freer" response was even more pronounced. No power difference really felt.
Went to the gym, and when i came back. The car was feeling a little better and i could finally feel a slight difference. I had a passenger the whole time, so it made the difference even harder to notice.
As r10apple put it, there is a difference as good as an intake. For me, not quite as good as my icebox gains, but i really really like how it revs up quicker. Between 3-5k rpm, the revs build faster. You can really feel less weight on the engine.
On to the parts that people fear, such as increased vibration or electrical deficiencies, all are not present. The steering and interior lights look the same to me, and their are no extra vibrations. Of course, time will tell if there are any negatives to come from this mod, but for now i agree with r10apple that everything is normal still.
I know Nash is gonna come and say that "you shouldnt feel a difference", but sorry bud, i felt it. Just like i felt the intake, headers, and every other mod done to the car. I am very sensitive to the car to the point that i can tell if lower octane gas was used(well, not exactly but you get the point). When there is extra power or less power, i can usually feel it.
Last thing is that i didnt really do any WOT runs in 1st or 2nd, so i cant really comment much on upper rpm gains.
TO SUM IT UP, faster revs, and slight power gain through entire band. Just like everyone else experienced. Peace.

oh, i used gates belts because supposedly they are the best. plus no one else had similar belts. belts alone costed 30 bucks! i got it installed by a guy on the v6p site. he has his prices posted in a thread if you want them, but his prices are very fair. he is also a great guy. pm me if you want some info on him. anyways, i asked him about noise from belts, he said you shouldnt get any as no one has ever complained before. time will tell

got the crank pulley on my tl-p and it made a world difference. The revs come up so fast, and forget about punching it off the line. If i hold first and gunit from like 3000 and up i will break the tires loose hard. BTW i have a 99 tl-p modded

I've been debating this mod as well, but any negative affects from the pulley won't really be known until months or even a year from now.

Dean at Comptech sells crank pulleys?
I figure if Stillen includes the UR pulleys in the 350Z mod manual for the 2k3-2k4 model year, that means they stand by this product. THerefore, by simple logic, it's good enough for me...
I guess if I'm getting the pulleys, I should get all three, right?

yes, take your time, and be careful. also, look for belts now, before you get it put in. i paid 30 bucks for them, but i know they can be had cheaper. i got gates though, which is usually higher anyways.

I have only the crank pulley also and I just love it. It was defitnitly worth it. As far as UR says for every lb you loose on the crank pulley you gain 2.8hp at the crank. Our stock crank is 8.9lbs and the new one is 1.5lbs, it's a noticeable diference. Plus I too have not had a problem with my electrical or noise or anything else from this pulley. Enjoy it seems to just get better in time.

No, AEM's are accessory pulleys and not for the crank...
I think my crank pulley was like $205 or so with a $55 install. The belt was from Napa and I cannot remember the cost...
Great review, power! I still like mine just fine!

there is one dyno ive "heard" about, he claimed only 6 whp and 1 tq.
thats the only one i have heard about so far. but in the case of this mod, its not all about the gain in hp, it is more about the faster revs which gets you to vtec faster and gets you back in quicker should you fall out. if this pulley didnt give the engine better revs, i would deem the extra power as insignificant and would of never bought the pulley.

I've had the UR set for a while now and have zero problems. I haven't felt the vibrations others have claimed.
The car is definitely more responsive and my track times prove it but I didn't dyno the pulley alone, so overall hp gains are questionable.
Great mod for the money and my Acura tech at Honda did it in a half hour at no charge.

Revving faster to redline is equivalent to a significant increase in horsepower/torque .. there is no way around that argument. Ronnie, where are you getting your price from, if you care to share?
So no one recommends getting the accessory pulleys?

i just dont feel it is necessary for the whole set. the crank offers most of the gains and thats what i was looking for. plus, i am trying to spend less money on the car for now, just in case my plans for a turbo do not diminish

$210 shipped from Dean of course
Power - I had dreams of turbo for a long time now, but it's going to cost A LOT b/c with an auto (at least for me) you would need a new tranny (Dean's I would think) and to find someone to make the necessary piping for you. In fact, my car guy decided not to help me in this case b/c it would be of work. S/C is just not a favorable route for me. If I want FI, I want to be able to tune & control it like a turbo...plus the sound is so sweet! With all this said, I'm shifting gears to an allmotor setup...I'll see how much I can do without the 3.5L upgrade.

let me explain my reason for turbo. first of all, it is not exactly a turbo. there is a special new turbo/supercharger in the works by a friend. it basically is based off a turbo but works slightly different. now, since he is still R&D, he might be able to hook me up on it. of course i would pay for the parts and anything else related, but it still comes out relatively cheap.
the guy developing this is extremely smart, and he engineers everything himself. keeping my fingers crossed!
btw everyone,
i must say that the crank pulley is really noticeable in my car. i am noticing a bit more vibration through the steering wheel, but i think it may have to do with the install since no one else complained. or maybe i am being paranoid for no reason
either way, this thing really makes the car go, no more lag and the revs build much faster.
look out for the second chapter of my TLS up against the G35C with Injen intake. How much do those injens help on the g35c?
