well..

I haven't been out of the track in awhile, but here are some thigns for you to avoid and some things which will help your launch;

AVOID:
1-Power braking (Putting your foot on the break and the other on the gas), might help a little in the launch from the line but plays havoc with your transmission. Avoid at all cost.

TO HELP YOU OFF THE LINE:
1-Turn VSA off
2-Use sportshift mode (Don't forget to switch gears, bumping the rev limiter is no good); YOu probably will never ever switch out of third gear
3-Take out any excess equipment in your car if you can (Jack, spare tire, sub box, etc) to reduce weight

and the thing that will probbaly help you out the most;

4- Floor that sucker on the thirds (I believe it's yellow) Christmas tree light, the one right before the green. If you floor it on the green light your reaction time will really suffer because the amoung of time it takes for the car to go once you hit the gast.

really, i think that will be most helpful...i hope to get at least 3 runs, so i will run once in ss mode, once in auto and i wont be taking anything out of the car, cause its better to know what you run in real world situations on the street that being prepped for legal racing....that isnt my intention

What he said and...
1. Lower your tire pressure to get better launch.
2. Try to use the right lane since you will get the description of your times, with the left lane, you get nothing but numbers.
3. Try to use 1->2->3, I found it a little faster since you could redline 1st gear.

I would call them before leaving to make sure they are not closed. www.houstonraceway.com.

I think he means use D1 D2 D3 instead of SS.

Other posts have mentioned this.

I think the experience has been with the top method you can
wind it out in 1st more before shifting to D2.

I would normally just leave it in D3 and lay on it. That is how I got my best time of 14.3.
