Damn, I musta missed that drivin' from Knoxville to Athens last summer.
I did, however, have a nice lovely drive through Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. The Smokies are beautiful.
EDIT: Perhaps I did drive through this area, but the traffic was so bad that I couldn't do anything with the CL-S...??? Or, maybe I'm just an idiot and can't really remember the route I took from Knoxville to Athens. Yeah, that's prolly it.

I haven't taken the CL-S6 there yet, most of the times I have run it has been in the BMW. I have run it twice in the '01 CL-S though.
The front end heavy CL really shows its lack of capability here. The nose is always trying to push wide. But this was with a stock suspension and tires. You never get above about 60 MPH and most turns limit you to about 20 - 25; many are very tight hair pin turns.
So needless to say, this is not the CL's realm but still fun.
I'm really curious how the CL-S6 would do with the HLSD. That would certainly help get around some of the tight turns better.

From Pigeon forge you take 321 south to the Foothill Parkway. The Foothills Parkway is anout great drive albeit much higher speed than the Dragon. Takes you up to about 4000 feet and back down to about 2000 feet all with 60 MPH sweeping turns not to mention the great view.
But the best part is that it ends right at the beginning of Hwy 129 (the Dragon). So you go from higher speeds sweepers to a slow twisted thrill ride. In all about 1.5 hours of joyous driving. But from there it is pretty easy to pick up 441 and head into Athens in a couple of hours.

Thanks for the directions, though. If I ever drive that trip again, I'll be sure to look for El Dragon.
