Auto dimming rear view mirror - PROBLEM

Bought my CLS this last summer and I noticed that the rear view mirror at night dimmed over part of the mirror - but not all.

Now it doesn't dim at all. Is this a problem anyone else has experienced?
Thanks Glenn

It's a been a problem for some people. The liquid inside just stops working, or something like that.

You can get it replaced under warranty.

happens all the time. all dealers stock the mirror because of it. i've replaced mine twice already. my best advice would be to only turn on the dimmer when you need it.

oh and the mirror should cost around 150.

My car has 55K and I've had mine replaced twice. One would think that they would repair the manufacture problem.

mine stopped working about 2 months ago....75k miles so i guess i'm not complaining too much

i find the SUV glare isn't all that bad. in fact, with the Seattle rain, the extra light allowed through helps me to see cars around me.

I e-mailed the manufacturer and they sent me a new one! Probably the best customer service experience I've ever had. Check out the TL board and you'll find the contact info. I'm sorry that I don't have it handy, but you'll find it. Took just a few minutes to replace it myself. Works great now. I'm getting the car tinted tomorrow, so it becomes much less of an issue, but its nice to have it working.
