Anyone know if the infinity basslink will hook up with the stock deck in the 1st gen? I got the bose system, but I found a site selling it for 240 bucks, so i was thinking this might be good, just have to figure out how to install it, or if it would even work easily

 

I've seen other first gens talking about their Infinity Basslink so it works just fine. Not sure about installation though. The link below is to one of the discussions about the Basslink.

The basslink will work on any radio. That's why it has many ways to hook it up. You can use speaker level, & tap into the rear speakers. You could use line output converters, or splice into the signal coming from the head unit to a pair of RCA cables for a clean line level signal.

 

so this will definitely work on the first gen speakers and stock deck? my roommate seems to be telling me otherwise, like i need a new deck and stuff

 

I'm not driving a first gen but I can definitely tell you the Basslink will work on your car. It was easy to install too! Sound is just right - trunk space is still usable.

BTW, I bought mine on ebay (new) for $219.
