Anyone regret getting black over the silver?

I ordered a black cls and now I'm having doubts after seeing some cls in parking lots. I see the swirls and scratches all over. Then I saw a silver one and it looked better to me. I'm the type of guy that will go crazy over a scratch. I know the black looks great, but I think in the long run the silver should be better.

Anyone have regrets???

I have no regrets at all. Everyone I go, I see silver CL or CL-S. Silver is the hottest color on the market IMO. I got black cuz my first car (Explorer) was black and I still wanted to go black.

sometimes... black is much too hard to take care of. but, after it's clean and nicely waxed... black is just too beautiful on this car

I have the silver and I do regret buying it. My first choice was to get the blue, but then I changed my mind because I didn't want to worry about scratches and swirls...oh well

Of the handful of CL-S's here, the majority of them are silver, a few black and red, 1 PDG(that I've seen with my own eyes), and 2 or 3 blues.

The grass is always greener on the other siade. I saw a silve one with deep metallic tinted windows and it looked really sweet. The swirl marks can be minimized for the most part by never touching the car with anything but the best 100% cotton towels. If you do that and keep her good and waxed up it will continue to look great.

Silver is good, but it never really looks dirty and it never really looks clean like a black car can. Pick your poison!

Let me also add that my car will not be garaged. That is why I'm having doubts. What would you do?

Does anyone have pictures that I can use to compare the two?

You know what they say, "once you go black, you never go back!" It's my third black car, second in a row and I love it. Yes it shows scratches but it still looks awesome clean and waxed.

I actually kind of regret going with the silver. The black looks sweet and almost every other CL-S I see is silver. The black would really go well with chrome wheels too. I went with the silver because my last car was black and my lazy ass knows that the black is more of a hassle to keep clean. I really wanted a blue, but the CL-S wasn't available in any blue when I got mine.

In Cali or Arizona, I'd think about getting black. But, in Seattle... you're just punishing yourself not getting silver.

No regrets about color. Black is the best color for our car, IMO.

Silver looks a little bloated on the CLS, its better for smaller cars like porsche and miatas.

I only bought my car because they had a black one on the lot. I wouldn't take it in any other color.

I do regret having them put on a front licence plate. It's the law here, but it looks terrible. I want to take it off... my legend never had a front plate, and the grill looked 100x better, and i only got warned once by the cops (in over a year).

i also regret getting my windows at 35%. 50% might have been better, because i didnt factor in the factory tint. its pretty dark with 35%.

of all the CLS colors, I think red and black stand out the most. Since black/white are my fav colors...

personally I don't quite care about swirl or scratch marks, they are something can't be avoided... all cars regardless the color all have the same damage, just that it is more obvious on black... well, if I ever wanna sell my car, just wash'n wax, kaaabooom, new again.

Same as gto2050 (my third black car as well).

One advantage with this car is that the smooth, clean lines make it so easy to clean and polish. It's a little trickier around the spoiler but even that part is not bad. I'm comparing this to my other black car, which has all kinds of nooks and crannies in the body design that makes it much more tedious to polish.

Sold a black honda prelude, bought a silver cls... Couldnt be happier. I got sick of seeing all the dirt and swirls. Made the black car look 10 years old..

Also I disagree with whomever said that silver doesnt look clean.. My baby sparkles... Shiny as hell, tint looks great...

Why buy black if you cant keep it clean? Your short term joy over the shiny black will soon give way to years of frustration...

I was going to get silver as well, but I ended up choosing black. The silver one reminded me of all the grey ThunderChickens (Thunderbirds) in this area. If you're not in KY, you might not have that problem. Plus, I think the silver would have been better if it were a more metallic color. It just looked grey to me.
