My coworker hangs out here all the time, so I thought I'd post something.

Anyone know how well a Volvo S70 T5 would fare against the CLS? I bought my 236hp high pressure turbo on Ebay (locally), and it's a fun ride compared to the 114hp Volvo it replaced. Just hearing the turbo sound is cool enough for me. Chipping the car (~$900) would bring me to 285, but I can't bring myself to spend that much, especially since I only drive 1.5 miles to work.

So, I'm just curious if any Volvo driver has been bold enough to take one of you one?

I took one on the other day....I think it was a very late model S70. I killed him on the start and he caught up quickly...when the CLS kicked into 4th (and 5000 RPM), all he saw were tailights! I agree, it's hard to find those preppy Volvo drivers who will race ya, but you gotta tease him.

Well, I guess I'm one of those preppie drivers.

Do you know if you raced a regular S70 (168hp), a GLT(190hp), or a T5(236hp)? The T5 is a high pressure turbo vs. the low pressure turbo of the GLT. I've never raced anyone, but I was just curious to know how my car would fare. I know that it's got a bit of turbo lag, but once it kicks in, it's pretty aggressive.

I have an 850 T5 which is an earlier model of S70, but generally same car, mine is slightly modded, chipped too, but its a fair race between me and a stock CL-S, depends on driver, unfortunetly im stuck with a auto tranny

Kinda like VTEC. The CL doesn't really lag but my Integra Type R felt slow until 6000rpm. Then, it felt like it got rear ended by a semi
