Anyone here installed a new aftermarket HID headlight kit?

I'm looking to start off easy with my first mod I do to my 02 CL. I'd like to do a HID foglight setup, but first I think I might just swap out the OEM HID headlights for a 55 watt 6000k aftermarket kit. I like having the HID's on my CL, but I swear that the HID's on my mom's 08 Caddy DTS are much brighter. I want some REALLY bright lights! Has anyone here swapped out their OEM HID's for an aftermarket set? Is it hard to do? I'd think it would be relatively easy.

After I'm done with the headlight swap, I'll probably move on to making some killer HID fog/road lights. Plus, since my whole OEM headlight system functions fine, everything works, I should be able to get a few bucks for it, right?

I've done it. It's not too bad of a job even for a first time headlamp modder.
I got a 35w 10,000k hid kit for less than $50 and I think it's alot brighter.
6k will have close to the most output,I just like the blue.
No matter what I drive near thats light colored turns blue.

There is no way 10k is brighter. They are all the same watt, and the higher you go up past 4300k the less useable light you get.

Just get new bulbs. Plus another reason it appears they are brighter is they are projector. You want brighter lights retrofit yours with projectors.

I find 3ks are the brightest but I think what you are expeiencing is it lighying up purple and its differnt so it looks brighter but is not where as 4300k is the closest to natrual light so its not as noticable

BTW I did a DIY on fog light HID Its Called

DIY: road lamps to hid fogs or something like that
