my girl and i split so since she was a co-borrower on the lexus loan... i stripped that car and gave it to her. i traded the s2k for the gs, my cl-s for an rl, and the rl in on an 04tl lease. i'm waiting for the new gs430

The TL is a sweeeeeet ride. Seeing as I got the mod itch but would have to lease a TL, I'd go for the A-spec. $.02

dbox, grats on the ride. Did you buy or lease? If you bought, where did you get yours from? I'm in negotiations for one now in Austin, but as of now it's 50-50 if they'll come down in price, and I need some leveraging power..

It wasn't intentional, but my wife and I will have gone from full Nissan to full Honda, at least for this round. Honestly though, my wife's 04 Accord EX is almost as nice as the TL. It's missing HID headlights and a couple of other minor nicknacks...

That said, I've tried both and you're right. The Accord really does ALOT for only $28G. (In that price range, I'd be hard pressed to choose between the AV6 and TSX auto.) The only hangup to me is the Accord's feminine looks versus the TL's masculine appearance & performance.

With regards to DVD Audio, I'll be honest, I'm not even sure what DVD Audio is. Does that mean I can play MP3s off a DVD? Or does that refer to the sound quality? I guess I can ask over on the TL site.
Blutooth I guess I'll appreciate once I get a phone that works with it. I did discover that the TL comes with one useful feature that the Accord doesn't have: stability control. To the TL's detriment, I know I'll give up a good deal on performance on the auto, but I think whatever car I buy next I'm just going to leave stock and just be happy.
Other cars on the short list:
- Maxima- you can actually get most of the same equipment on a Maxima as you can on the TL, sans a couple of items, one of the notable ones being voice-activated NAV. I'm just a little wary of stuff built in that plant, as my Altima has more squeaks and rattles than a toddler day care (and no, it didn't start off that way, which is why I believe it's a build quality issue).
- G35- Infiniti dealers sell every G35 they can get their hands on, and price-wise, it's just not where I wanna be.
- 350z- Not completely out of the realm of possibility, but if I'm giving up two seats, it should be a lot faster than the car I currently drive, and a Z isn't (yes, I know the TL will be slower, but I get other goodies to compensate for that)

As for the Maxima/Altima's squeaks and rattles, the irony is that my 2002 Maxima has no rattles at all. Then again, it was made in Japan, unlike the 2004 Maxima and 3G Altimas. :P So far, I cant complain about its structural quality. (With 29k on the odo, it still smells new.)
The Z is quicker than people say it is. I've seen stock Z33s (6MT) run anywhere between 13.8-14.6. So that's either production inconsistencies (i.e.: MS Protege) or just the drivers.
The new Altimas seem to have better quality than the 2002 model and now has DVD Navi avail (not to mention 250hp/249lb-ft). BTW, dont forget the upcoming Alitma SE-R; though the jury's out on whether or not it: a) will MSRP for under $30G, b) Navi will be avail and c) will have more than 250hp/249lb-ft.
Also, I just located a 2003 AV6 loaded (sans Navi) for $22G and 9k on the odo. Not bad, IMO.
Peace
