Anyone know of a trustworthy mechanic in the san fernando valley with experience working on Acuras? I dont want to pay dealer prices and i feel like im always getting swindled by mechanics.

I have a buddy who is the old R&D guy from AEM that works out of his home now. He's usually pretty busy w/ various projects but i'm pretty sure he can help you w/ your needs. A good amount of people on this board have used him. He is in Alhambra and his name is Eric, the # is 626 8317989

Where is my super sauce?
I used to go to John Kennedy on Calvert in Van Nuys, just around the corner from Keyes Acura. I just googled and found the phone number: 818-785-8845. Kennedy's Automotive only takes care of Acura and Honda -- I think most of their crew used to work at Keyes.
He and his crew did a nice job taking care of my aging Integra. Pricing always seemed fair.

We had a couple of good shops for my wife's '95 Atlima and they are now out of business after so many years in business
They were in the West LA (Century City/Westwood area).
We miss them![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Anyone know of a trustworthy mechanic/shop for Nissans too.
BTW, last two places worked on lots of different makes of cars; had good pricing and I could easily chat with the tech(s) working on the car.

hey valleycls and allmotor, where in the valley are you guys at?? I'm in chatsworth, between the winnetka theaters and the northridge mall. Ive seen about 3 CL-S so far, all 3 driven by women. One was a 30yr old asian chick, the other 2 were like 40-50 year old broads lol. I dont see any young people driving em. Maybe we could have a meet or somethin?
Oh yea, I have no idea about mechanics, lol, sorry

well I just bought the CL-S a couple weeks ago, so I haven't gotten any aftermarket shit done to it, except PIAA bulbs and tint. I got my tint done at California Tint Shop and they did my 5 windows for $135. The PIAA's I got at optauto.com. That's it ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Got any good recommendations?

allmotor or silverbulit (whoever can handle springs),
my car has been making this knocking sound forever now, and its been happening ever since I let piece of shit Tokico install them for me.
Basically after getting the run around from the Tokico guys, i rather just pay someone else to help. its been too long that ive put up with this, let me know what can be done.
btw, its only in the rear and im pretty sure from the drivers side. loud as hell, and it seems to happen only at 25-30 and less, usually cant find it at speeds above 35.

my guess is you might have a blown shock. When you are parked try pushing down on the side you believe the knocking sound is coming from. If it makes a sound similiar to the sound your hearing when your driving then i'm pretty sure you have a blown shock.
