anyone experiment with a hard v-1 mount yet?
I know I saw one from a site that was referenced here by a member where the mount screws into the existing sun visor clip hold for vettes:
But the way ours screws in, the screw doesn't go in vertically, I think it goes in horizontally somewhat if I remember correctly. But the whole reason I'm writing this thread is cause I haven't been using the V1 cause of issues with it sticking to the dot matrix near the rear view and I don't want it sitting in the middle of the windshield.
Any suggestions on making a similar piece of hardware, or even buying this piece and modifying it somehow?

There a G35/350Z site that sells/makes them to attach to the rear view mirror as well.
I've looked into them but don't think it's as good as the suction cups. The mounts make the V1 farther in from the windshield. I'd rather have max range but getting it as close to the front of the car as possible. My V1's sensor actually sits right at the windshield.

I've got mine mounted with the suction cups in the upper left corner of the windshield. Granted, it's not the optimum location, but it works just fine. The wire runs down behind the trim next to the windshield to the remote display which is on top of the steering column. You can't see it from outside the car unless you bend down to look. And with the remote, people (cops) can't see the lights from behind the car when it goes off. The only downside to this location is that you can't swing the sun visor all the way forward.
