Anyone else get this offer from Acura?

I just got a letter from a local Acura dealership offering me NADA value for my car Plus 20% or $4,000 on top of that for a new 2005 Acura. Also may have won $5,000 if they call my lucky 6 digit number...

The only reason I ask is becasue they say that I am only 1 of 300 lucky families to receive this offer and I wanna know if it is BS or not...

They say that this is not open to the public...blah blah blah

I have seen these ads, and the bottom line, is they are looking to get you there and tell you to bend over. Of course this is just my opnion on these types of 'deals' as that is a dealers motivation is get as much money out of the consumer as possible.

Depends how you look at it I guess...but I am not considering it at all. The only cars I would move up to are the TL or RL which are out of my range right now.

Too bad I can't transfer this offer to someone who can actually use it. YOu have to show ID when using this offer and it has my name really big up top.

Here are a couple of pics :

Reading the fine print ... it says "we'll give you UP TO 20%" over NADA. Plus, the $4K is just an incentive that probably also says in the fine print ... "You can't be over 3 feet tall" for this offer. Sounds like a local deal where the dealer is looking to generate some traffic in his place. Plus ... you may be limited to existing '04s on the lot. JMHO.

its as scam, go there and watch them give you 20% or $4000 for your CL, the pull the same cram down in FL, at 1 or 2 Acura dealers.

Like some one said its a way to get YOU down to there dealer, genrate some business.

I dont know any many miles your 2001 CL-P has got but lets say u have 40000miles/give or take 5000, lets go to the NADA.com, and see how much your car is worth.

Average Trade-In
Base Price

$14,475

Mileage 40,000 miles $700
TOTAL PRICE $15,175 + $4000 = So lets see them offer you $19475 for your CL-P

They won't even come near that amount....

In terms of overall speed perhaps, but if you factor the fact the RSX is much better handling and a much more engaging vehicle to drive hard than even a 6spd CL-S, then not really. Also, someone is much more apt to purchase an RSX-S used than the CL. There isn't anything in the CL (perhaps other than the Navi and heated seats) that the RSX doesn't have. And the redesign on the 05 RSX is amazing, they really woke the car up! It doesn't look boring anymore!

That said, I'd wait and buy the RSX-R

I really like my CL, I really do. I think. Yeah, I still like it.

Actually, the way I read the scam ... it's UP TO 20% over NADA ($18,210) OR they give you $4,000 against the price of a new car (at MSRP of course). Needless to say, you are right ... you won't get the $18k and you could probably negotiate the $4K off sticker just about anywhere on an '04.

Them and Paragon Honda gotta be the absolute worst two dealers I've ever heard about.

Screw you on the sale then they screw you on the service.

I wouldn't go to them if they advertised free cars!
