I used to work at a Ford dealership. This one lady with a lemon focus kept coming in. After parking her car for her, I felt like I needed a shower. And that was 2-3 minutes in her car. She said she always smoked with her windows up and AC going. It was horrible. That was before I actually smoked.

if it's that horrible, don't borrow a car. you're the type of buyer that would be missing a wallet.

I have noticed that a CL w/ebony int. is no match for cig. ashes. Mx ex's '03 was always covered. My parchment only shows it if it's been awhile since I cleaned the int. It always smells nice though.

And by the way, even I, as a smoker, have been in certain peoples cars that reak so bad of smoke, you just want to vomit!

Usually doesn't smell like anything after I do, I just leave my sunroof open while I'm smoking and then roll down my windows after I'm done.

I smoke big stinky Domonican cigars in my CL.
Use febreeze, citrus magic, or this new stuff called Atmosklear they sell at Target, they all work, but atmosklear works best, just kills smoke order. Cigarette smell actually seems harder than cigar to get rid of, probably cuz you smoke more cigarettes.
also cleaning the dash and seats, and replacing the air filter behind the glove box works well.

I don't smoke in my TL. Spent too much money on the damn thing and I'm not about to eff it up with the stench of one of my bad habits.......

Now the fucked up part about this is that I bought some buffalo wings tonight and now the TL reeks of wing smell. I can't win.

you might think smoking is cool. but if you always want IT to work, quit. then your lungs may look kinda like this.

Sad post. Hard to read about so many smokers, in or out of their car. Amazing to worry about the effects of smoke on the car and not on the effects to the heart and lungs or others. I know it's hard to quit for a lot of people, but still.

My Dad has emphysema from smoking, he stopped smoking 20 years ago, but he's on oxygen tanks 24/7 now and it's sad. No one knew how bad it was when he started in the 1940's, but it's a new century now.

well, I actually have a pipe...

and I'd have a much harder time justifying smoking in the car if either parents or sisters ever rode in it... I'd always be paranoid about it lol.

I am worried about my health. That's why I partially quit smoking. When I started coughing for no reason, feeling like my lungs had a little water in them made me want to.

Ok this is how to do it...... 12 step smoking in cl program

1. Dont smoke in your car (if you cant do that keep reading)
2. if u smoke cigarettes....smoke menthol...smell is not as bad as cowboy killers
3. keep car always ventelated...even in rain...which would u rather have...wet clothes or smelly car
4. if you smoke blunts...stay with backwoods or dutchies..its a leaf and doesnt have that cigar smell
5. smoke good shit...not dirt...lol....it makes a difference
6. If the weather permits...windows down halfway...sunroof fully open...vent airconditioner
7. ash out of the sunroof....less ash flying around vs. ashing out of the windows...
8. carry some kind of air freshener or stop being cheap and pay $2.00 for the vanillaroma trees...they stay taking away the smell..
9. after smoking (if weather permits) leave window slightly open.....
10. vaccum once a week
11. dont let anyone smoke in your car other than you...if they complain....test them and pull over and tell them to stand outside and you'll stand with them...most will put it away...cant trust other smokers...
12. keep driver rotation (for ) meaning passenger passes to driver and driver passes back...not the other way around....keep yo red eyes on the road dummy...

i smoke in my car at least once a day and with these rules and my car usually smells good the next day...like brand new....

Oh yea...after you smoke....air out for a while...meaning find a nice long strip and drive at 60mph for 10 mins...lol...

Ain't no in between. Ya either have or haven't. I went a year not smoking in my car before I finally quit. (One of the few smart things I've done in my life).

It was worth it. Leather smells better than smoke. Plus, think of all the money you'll save (mo' mod money?).

I smoke heavily when I drink and have driven my cls while smoking and unfortunatly drinking. I am embarrassed and hate to admit it. very very stupid. dont drink and drive. I hate it and wish smoking would be outlawed in every public establishment including bars. I would never do it if everyone around me wasnt smoking. I can go all week without one. I am on the road to quitting. no more lung overs. get it? like hang overs.

The smoking ban was just passed statewide here. It's no big deal for the most part but there are a couple of dive bars I frequent and I must admit, it's pretty odd to walk into places like those and NOT walk into the cloud of smoke you were expecting. I think it should be up to the bar owners but let's not even get me started on that one.

Smokers are not the best judge on how smoke free a car smells. Smoking diminishes the sense of smell too. No way there is no smoke smell after all these procedures some smokers are taking.

Nice Smell Good Trick

The Deleware Acura dealer told me this one. Take a bowl, put in fresh coffee grinds (i like vanilla), cut up an apple and place it on top of the grinds. Place the bowl in the car, turn your car on and put the heat on max with all windows up and have the air on recycle. Let your car run like that for 15 minutes and it does wonders. as long as you like the coffee bean smell. But that's the salesmen down there do when they take the cars joy-riding for the weekend. I do it with my car and it works great.I smoke all day in my car and non-smokers can never tell that i smoke in there. off course when i do smoke I roll down all the windows after to air it out.
