Anybody here bought a car w/o seeing/driving it?

As you can see, I am tremendously excited to get my new car, and can't stop post whoring on this board, instead of studying for my exams.

Wondering if anybody here bought a car without seeing it themselves, and without driving it of course?

Here's my personal story: test drove one locally, fell in love but car was full of scratches. Found another one 9hrs away from me in another country (the US of A), sent my father to go see it, he said it's mint, I said let's do it - and today, I am now titleholder of my car! In 1 week exactly, after my last exam, I get to go pick it up and drive it back to Canada.

It's appearently in mint condition, 19K miles, and it even smells brand brand new inside.

So... have you bought a car w/o even seeing it first?

I did. I bought mine out of state. Flew there and checked it out, bought it, and drove it home. About 800 miles away I guess. Car was just as expected, only 7500 miles.
no regrests.

This is quite a bit different than sight unseen. Does your dad know anythig about cars? I assume he does. So you're probably going to be very happy, based on his interaction with the car.

At least you had someone look at the car close to you before you purchased it. I used to sell cars on ebay and about 85% of the cars I sold where purchased site unseen (never had any negative feedback). If you bought it from a reputable sources and your father looked at it you should be good. I know where your coming from it's worse than being 10 years old the night before christmas.

Will do, my dad went to get the car from dealership this evening and brought it home, he said the car is in literally in brand new showroom condition (new car smell and everything) and the rims don't have the slightest scuff on them.

When I import it to Canada, we will be driving with two cars, so that will keep me from being stupid (my last car had 75hp @ the crank - you can imagine the difference). The ol' man's not the street racing type, hehe!

Oh man how will I sleep for the next week...

My car had 8 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. I ordered it 3 months prior and had never seen it or driven it until the day I went and picked it up. I have loved the car ever since...

I bought my car off e-bay. When I went to pick it up they let me test drive and inspect it before to see if I still wanted it before we did all the paper work.

cltypeSLOW-what auction did you buy your car from???? Do you have a dealer license?

When Acura started taking orders for the 6speed I put a deposit on one without ever driving a CL. So, kind of.

getting a 6-speed w/that mileage is a hell of a find.
i was hunting a black cl w/the black leather for the longest time here in SD and in LA and finally found a good one north of LA. had so much traffic going up that after 4 hrs of bumper to bumper i should've been tired. But i was happy as hell to test drive that hotness. it was already late and cool out, so u know that brisk acceleration!!! yeah! good luck bro

I bought my Aegean Blue 6spd from a member here. We were in talks for months. I had everything set up to buy it, flew out to Kentucky, looked at it, drove it about 3 miles and then another 600 or so back home. The pics and the test drive still don't do it justice. It's so much better in the flesh (or ummm, metal) and driven in an everyday situation.

My first post here, i'm new.

I just bought a 2003 6spd CL-S, never seen it, or driven one, but i think i'll be happy. It's silver/black interior w/ 41k miles. Can't wait to pick it up and drive 9 hours home next week.
