Damn 22k miles on an 01

I bought my 01 last year with 24k miles and I thought that was low.

Kinda glad the insurance company totalled my car. They gave me a little over $19k for a cl-s w/ nav with 50k miles on it. I had the car for a month short of 5 years. It was actually $18k plus taxes which came out to $19k. On a regular sale, you wouldn't get the taxes.

Guess asking $10k for my rebuilt CL-s is too much. I think I'm gonna keep the thing as a winter car.

Kinda what I was trying to say in the other thread Resale on these automatic transmission cars sucks. And I need to total my car! Pretty sad when I could get $5k more for it totalled than sold.

And the $19k they gave me included taking out $500 deductible. They said that they figured the price by averaging the prices from 3 sources (Edmunds, KBB, NADA) and also buy calling local dealers to find comparative sales prices. I'm sure most dealers are still trying to sell CL's for $17-18k, which is how they came up with $18k+taxes for my car. It's not the SELLING price that they gave me, it's the PURCHASE price from a dealer for a comparable car which includes taxes.

Man, if only I had waited a year. Oh well.

Willdogs: you may want to see how much you can get for your CL-p.
