Am i pushing it???
well this morning starting the car, my Maintenance Required light is flashing, and i know im guilty of not bringing it in soon enough...according to when i was SUPPOSED to and where i am now, the difference is onlya couple hundred miles...but i have to last until next Friday when i bring it to Park Ave...think im pushing it too much??? i only drive a couple miles a day during the week, and about a hundred miles on the weekend...so i figure by next Friday, ill put on another 150 miles, which will bring me approx 350 miles over scheduled milage check-up...doesn't sound too bad...what do u think???

The Dealer Maintainance Gods will come down on you! No, you're not in any dire straights. The light comes on before the next 7,500 interval (time from last maintainance happened). It is to be used as a guide, and that is all.. YMMV

my lights been on for a week and i'm at 15700 mi, due for my 15k. but my last 1789 miles were 99% freeway, so i'm going in this thursday for it.
i think what the manual shows is a "guide", based strictly on severe and normal driving conditions which 90% of people don't fall into either, but both. i think as long as you don't entirely skip a service, you're alright especially considering the quality of oils nowadays...unless they're using walmart brand oil.

The 'maintenance required' light is a scam! Grab a manual and check the car out yourself. You'll save money and learn a lot about your ride. But that's just an opinion of course...
